Few recommendations. Add soup. Add higher quality of food with little bit more options. Half sandwich and half soup would be a nice add. Add coffee/tea choices. It’s cold and you’ll bring some warmth with those additions.
If this place can raise the quality and options, it would make it so much better. Waiter was nice and the balcony view was beautiful.
Being part of the winery, the restaurant had a nice selection of wines and some great draft beer options. The menu is somewhat limited, but everything we ordered was outstanding fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared.
One standout was the “Cutie Board” on the kids’ menu: a fun and creative meat, cheese, and cracker plate served with nuts and cherries. It was a hit with our kiddo they gave it an A+! Most meals came with kettle chips as a side, which was fine, though it would be nice to see a few more side options in the future.
We also spotted some flatbread pizzas that looked fantastic, definitely on our list for next time.
If you’re already at Aerie’s for the Alpine Coaster, this is the perfect spot to grab a bite and enjoy a drink. We loved the experience and left full and happy. Looking forward to coming back!
First off, the only way to get to the restaurant is by the lift, for which they charge $12 per head. No accommodations for elderly, disabled, etc.
Once in, our party of 17 was split into 2 tables. One table got food after an hour. An HOUR AFTER THAT the other table got theirs, and it was cold. In between times, 4 other plates were brought out that weren’t ordered by anyone at our tables. This is unacceptable by any definition. Neither table was offered anything such as – a free appetizer for the wait, free cocktails, even crackers or bread to hold anyone over.
Before we paid anything, we asked for the manager who finally came over, clearly out of his league, and offered zero apologies. While we were talking to him, we were interrupted by the owner who flatly refused to do anything to rectify the situation except “let me buy you a drink.” No apology at all, in fact, he tripled down on “things happen, we’re busy.” The restaurant was not even half full; no line waiting. No, this is not busy. He adamantly exclaimed “No, we’re not comping anything,” and not even a discount was offered, nothing to make us want to come back or to preserve the reputation of his establishment.
This is how you run a restaurant… into the ground.
We will never return.
Our waitress was very nice – this is not a reflection on her.
If you want a wealth of variety, choose the oyster bar instead.
The saving grace to the Aeries terrace is the view and atmosphere.
As an add: We stopped at the winery for drinks before trying the terrace, and the ladies working there were great.
