Let me just say, what sold me to coming here was the message on their website saying “respectfully a child free environment” lol. As someone who enjoys their child free life; this was heaven sent to me lol.

Now on to the food. Man! Good lord talk abt goodness! I tried the Cuban and my friend got the burger and we both swapped out the chips for the truffle fries. All so so so yummy! I got the lavender lemonade and she got the basil, we both tried each others and loved them both! So fresh and refreshing. Then we split the red velvet brownie, so rich and decadent, we were both so speechless at how good it was!

Last let’s get into the prices! In this day and age, everything is so expensive, especially high quality stuff. But we got the high quality without getting beat over the head in prices. Seriously the lemonades alone only being $3 was a shocker because just knew it should have been abt $10 ( please don’t get any idea LOL) but anyways both of our tickets were under $25 and let’s be honest that’s unheard of in today’s times to get a whole meal, a drink and split dessert cost in a very cute and quaint establishment. Highly recommend.

I really wanted to love this place, especially as a small, women-owned business, but I’m honestly baffled by the 4.5+ star rating. The food was just okay and definitely didn’t match the price point. The lamb was overcooked, the meatballs were dry, and the crab dip was a lemon bomb. One of the most surprising letdowns was the $7 “table bread,” which turned out to be a single dinner roll that reminded me of Outback’s brown bread… And the $20 smoked old fashioned came with a clementine wedge, which absolutely doesn’t belong in a cocktail.

I appreciate the concept, and the service was fine, but overall, the Teal Turnip was a major miss for me. If you’re looking for true quality farm-to-table dining, I’d recommend Restaurant Constance.

This was my second time dining at the Teal Turnip, and I just love this place. Their menus are so creative, and I really enjoy seeing the new dishes for each season. Tonight the standout dish was the “Braisy Stupid Love,” which was a braised lamb shank that was so tender and flavorful we were all fighting over it!
We had a special Halloween dessert that was a blueberry pot de creme with a bat sugar cookie, and it was delicious without being too heavy.
Cocktails were great too, and if the menu seems overwhelming, ask your server for recommendations, they are very knowledgeable on the menu!
Great experience, will definitely return soon!

The food here is incredible from start to finish, including the desserts. Every bite was full of flavor and left us excited to visit again. It is such a pleasant surprise to find a place this creative inside a regular shopping mall. The menu is filled with dishes that show real talent and imagination. The desserts are made fresh in-house and taste amazing. Without a doubt, one of the best dining spots in Charlotte with a chef who truly knows their craft.

We celebrated my birthday at The Teal Turnip, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience from start to finish.

The farm-to-table approach is clear right away. The menu is chef-driven and seasonal, which makes the whole experience feel fresh and intentional. We had steak with potatoes and drumsticks with sweet potato mash, and both dishes were excellent — beautifully cooked, deeply flavorful, and presented in a creative way that showed real care from the kitchen.

One thing that really stood out was how accommodating they were with dietary restrictions. I have gluten and dairy intolerances, and our server immediately noted that for the chefs so everything could be prepared safely for me. That level of attention always means a lot.

The service itself was also memorable. Our server had a quirky, warm personality that made the evening feel relaxed and fun in the best way.

For my birthday, she surprised me with a dessert the chefs created specifically to accommodate my dietary restrictions — a playful ice-cream-style dish she affectionately called “a little weirdo.” It absolutely was… and it was also delicious. Creative, thoughtful, and a really fun way to end the meal.

Great food, thoughtful hospitality, and a kitchen that clearly enjoys what they’re doing. We’ll definitely be back.

The Teal Turnip is a fantastic place for dinner. I was recommended by a friend of mine. I had the pleasure of dining there on 2.19.2026 with a first date. The service was great and our waiter Jeff was well versed with the menu, bar, and all other aspects. He made great recommendations and every dish we tried was great. I like the way they have the menu set up in a way that you can share just about everything or enjoy individual entree’s. The menu is also very creative and fun. Also don’t forget about the dessert menu as well.

Kia our waitress was great from the start. I made a reservation for 2:30pm on a Friday since it was recommended, but when we arrived at 2pm, we were seated quickly.

Nice, cozy environment — the ceilings and wall art are welcoming. They do have a chef’s table for larger parties, and you must reserve that.

We shared the Caesar salad that had a unique flavor and was perfect for a couple. The shawarma salad was good; again, it had a unique flavor, and the pickle finish was a great touch. The Bougie Burger was exceptional—full of flavor, and the chips were light and flavorful.

The best part of that meal was the fact that the chef for the day really seemed to care about what she was doing and had a passion for making great food, and you can taste it.

Parking can be an obstacle if it’s busy, but it’s worth it to stop in. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality of food, and if you’re in the area, you can’t go wrong stopping in.

An instant favorite. The service was top-tier and the food was so good. Everything is locally sourced, which we loved, and the flavors were paired well together. I had the Your Mama’s Front Porch drink and it was SO GOOD. We will be back.

Hidden gem in Oakhurst…Went in a couple days before Christmas and was informed they were only doing a $75 holiday prix fixe dinner menu. I was a little skeptical of the price based on my previous dining experience there.

However, I was BLOWN AWAY. Each course was delicious and artistically prepared. This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Charlotte and hope they keep these choices on the regular menu year-round.

Great intimate atmosphere and drink selection too! Highly recommend!

I was very impressed with our experience, the food was unique and absolutely delicious. There was a wide selection of meat and vegetarian options. And the dessert blew us away as well- they had such unique and interesting ice cream flavors we’ve never heard of! You can tell that the chefs are talented and we loved the use of local and seasonal ingredients. The menu changes frequently which is exciting. We mostly dine in uptown/south end so now we are thrilled to have such a high quality dining experience so close to home!
