Wonderful casual dining spot.
I came here on a Monday evening with a good friend. The guy we enjoy one appetizer, 4 drinks and two entrees.
The staff was incredibly patient, friendly, responsive, and professional.
As it was my first time, they offered me suggestions on things to try and I was 100% satisfied with the quality and taste of my drinks and my food. I recommend this spot if you are in the area.
As this is a Minnesota restaurant look out for the walleye on the menu.

Just look at the pictures. The food looked and tasted like it had been sitting out a few days. I have genuine, true regret trying to get any of it down. I’m waiting/ dreading for the possibility of food poisoning to kick in. Alarming food cleanliness standards. There was steak on there, I had to spit some of it out into a napkin. The rest I swallowed whole because it was not chewable, and I am a teeth grinder so I can bite through and chew anything. Seriously horrible. I got a refund but dude, it was bad.

Went for an early dinner on a Saturday.
Service: our waitress did not greet us with a smile. The place was not overly busy, yet, not one time did she come to check in on us. I had originally asked for some hot sauce while ordering, and after we got our food, I asked for it again. Halfway through our dinner, I still did not get my hot sauce. We had to wave her down to ask for it. Our water was bone empty and still did not get any service. We had to wave her down again and ask for a water refill. At the end of the night, we tipped her 10% and she rolled her eyes at us and huff and puffed as she walked away. Worst service ever.
Food: The food quantity was extremely small while overly priced. The Tavern dry rub chicken wings were so bland, I had to drench in hot sauce and bleu cheese. The walleye fingers were literally the size of my 5 year old fingers and it came in 5 pieces. We did enjoy the crab stuffed portabella mushrooms and the chicken saltimbocca.
Overall, we gave an extra star for the restaurant ambiance and atmosphere. However, we will not we returning.

The food was really good and the staff was knowledgeable about celiac/gluten free. There were a lot of options on the menu and they said almost everything could be modified to be gluten free. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was great. I appreciate that the music wasn’t so loud that we were able to visit comfortably (Sunday lunchtime).

One of my family’s favorite spots! Their boneless wings are incredible which says a lot as we usually prefer traditional bone-in wings, and they have the best chicken wild rice soup! Their flatbread pizzas are always a great choice as well. This location is much easier to get a table too versus the Arden hills location, and they have a nice sized east facing outdoor patio when the weather is nice.

I used to love Tavern.. been coming for years and the last 4 trips have been terrible. We spend a lot of money with a family going out to eat, and the service and quality of the food has been so bad. Once we sat for 30 mins and just ended up leaving. Valentine’s dinner, the filet was awful, looked like a butterflied little piece of meat for a child with zero flavor. Lobster was chewy and not warm. No asparagus (fine, I ate my husband’s, and a nice guy did come back and ask us if we wanted it after the fact), and forgot sauces so by the time we got them our steak was cold (again oh well).. then the skillet cookie I promised my kids for being so patient (reservation at 7:15, seated at 7:45 didn’t get to dessert ordering until 9:30. Then to finish the evening they said for our Tavern card it only applied to our 2 kids meals (20% off used to apply to our entire bill- uses it for years)..because ours was the Valentine’s Day special. They do some nice things, and people are so great but for the money it’s so disappointing.

Brunch has changed for the worst. No more scones, pateries, pancakes, potatoes are nasty, even the caramel rolls are ruined.
I’m not one to leave terrible reviews, but I hope this helps bring back the original brunch menu. Time will tell or perhaps a different generation will appreciate the new nasty food.

Warm atmosphere that lends wellnto conversations. Good mixture of food options with a build your own burger that is well put together. Was in for an early dinner about 5pm was seated right away. Drinks came out well. Food was out quickly about 10 min. I had a Cuban, the pork was excellent. The coleslaw was a bit dry but tasted good. We asked that Dessert was delayed for 10 min with no problems, banana spice cake was excellent as well. Meals were well priced. Will definitely go back again.

I had the Thai salad with shrimp. Good flavor, very good quantity of food. Shrimp was very tasty! Restaurant was slow, so I expected a little quicker service. Overall good experience and nice atmosphere. Would definitely come

Monday evening, April 2024. We went here for dinner at 5:30pm. There was no waiting for a table. A full bar menu was available. Monday is all-you-can-eat fish fry so 3 of us ordered that. We received 4 stripes of cod with waffle fries and cold slaw. The fish was hot and crispy while still tender and flaky inside. I really liked the waffle fries but the cold slaw was on the dry side. The portion was large enough that none of us asked for a second order of fish. My son got the meatloaf and he really enjoyed it. It was firm without excessive filler and smothered with fried onion strips. We got 2 desserts to share, the Banana Spice Cake and the Red Velvet Cheesecake. Both were very high quality but the cheesecake came with mint chocolate chip ice cream which did not complement the cheesecake. I would ask for vanilla ice cream next time.
