I had a great lunch at the Beekman Arms. The good was very good, but the atmosphere of the old building and the support attentive service take the crown. The greenhouse area at the front of the building was really nice, and inside the solid wood rooms near the bar also looked very cozy. Paul, the waiter, checked in on me regularly. The mushroom toast with salad was pretty filling and tasty, and the turkey pot pie stew with biscuit was really comforting. The cheesecake was fine, I prefer it creamier.

We went to here for my brother in laws birthday. Our meals were excellent. I had the salmon. It was beyond terrific. Our server and hostess made us feel like family. Highly recommend.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. Our party had lamb shanks, butternut squash ravioli, Dutch turkey pot pie and the pork chop. All were great, and the clam chowder was killer. Nice selection of regional brews on draft. Original tavern opened 1766 and the atmosphere is great: all dark wood, low ceiling, muskets hanging on the wall, etc. I’ve had the beef pot roast before and can also recommend it. Wait staff were friendly and efficient so I left over 25% for a tip. Thanks!

It was difficult to assign a rating to the Beekman Arms Tavern. We went for lunch on a cold December day, and the historical ambiance was wonderful. Most of the restaurant (not the greenhouse seating) was cozy and historic – think dark woods, cozy booths and tables, low ceilings – very Colonial Williamsburg. The service was punctual and friendly. So far, so good. Now the food…disappointing given our expectations. It wasn’t bad by any means, but uninspired and vastly under seasoned. We ordered the turkey pot pie as one of the entrees, and for the first time in 25+ years I found myself grabbing the table salt and pepper to give it some flavor – any flavor. The biscuit in the center, in lieu of a crust, was hard and difficult to cut without a knife (not easy without sinking the biscuit in the dish). The other entree was mac and cheese, which was not much different from a higher-end box kit. The soups were adequate, although the NE clam chowder was quite thin and without many clams. French onion soup was as expected – standard but not outstanding for the $14 price tag. Would we come back? Sure, for the atmosphere and a drink perhaps, but probably not for a full meal. By the way, avoid the greenhouse tables – no ambiance and a view of ongoing heavy construction in the inn’s front yard.

I went with my wife and two other couples. We had made reservations and were seated immediately. The woman who greeted us was friendly and professional. We all had the brunch buffet. All of the food was delicious. They had options for both vegetarians and meat lovers. I especially enjoyed the omelets that were freshly made with your requested ingredients. Having limitless mimosas was a nice touch. But of course, since we were driving, we just had one. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. He came back several times to refill our waters and take away any plates that were finished. I also like the charm of this old building.

What a beautiful building.

Very historic.

My favorite thing about the hotel is there were 2 pictures, in a doorway entering one of the rooms, basically looking at each other.

One was Alexander Hamilton. The other was Aaron Burr.

So there I was, standing in one spot, looking at Burr to the left and Hamilton to the right.

Maybe the pictures were put there purposely, maybe they weren’t.

If you don’t know, Hamilton was shot and killed by Burr in a duel.

So, I was a little nervous to walk between the two pictures, just in case their ghosts where still pulling triggers.

FYI, this is supposed to be a funny post, so laugh!!!

The place is magnificently beautiful and we look forward to coming again.

A cozy, low-slung wooden colonial tavern. The kitchen punches above its weight. Surprisingly flavorful French onion soup. Had a beautifully-cooked bit of steak, too.

Overall good experience and worth checking out if you’re in Rhinebeck, located in a historical inn with lots of charm.

French onion soup originally came out cold, but they heated it up and the flavor was great.

Burger was cooked to the proper temperature requested and was very juicy. I loved their fries – both regular and sweet potato.

Club and BLT sandwiches were both good and were very large.

Good experience, solid overall.

I’ve always been wanting to try out this bar since I’ve heard a lot about it and it looks so rustic and interesting. Today was the day, my partner and I walked into the bar. The bar was full but the hostess at the door told us that we could grab our drinks and sit in the lobby by the fireplace if we needed to. We walked in, waited for almost 15 minutes, awkwardly standing by the bar. A couple of waiters noticed us because we were obviously standing and in their way at times. However, the bartender, NEVER bothered to acknowledge us with a greeting or even a slight nod. We assumed he was busy with prior orders so decided to wait for a bit. 15 minutes passed, and still no acknowledgment from him. He went on to make about 5 drinks while we patiently stood to be addressed. He even spoke to the waitress during this time but completely outright ignored us. He was a tall white male bartender. Absolutely sad and disappointing experience. Please treat your patrons better. We walked ourselves out and walked to a local bar on the other side of the road that did everything that this one bartender could never do.
