We went yesterday for the Arsenal (soccer) watch party. It was almost full but we were able to grab a table by the door.
She got a shiner cheers for $8 and I got a beautifully poured Guinness draught stout for $8 and we started with the bar pretzels with mustard and queso. They were really good with croissant like flakes and we both really enjoyed the cheese and mustard.
We were thinking of getting the stroganoff and asked the waitress what her favorite dish was and ironically she mentioned that without knowing which way we were already leaning. It was really good…the sauce, the mushrooms, the steak….mmmm.
They have buckets of domestics for $15 so we got one of those as well.
The service was pretty solid overall. Started a little slow to get our first order but she was stopping by every few minutes after that and was friendly and helpful. I was quite happy with the experience overall, especially considering how busy they were.

Came here cuz one of my buddies picked it out. TVs were fine to catch sports. The fries were OK. The chicken fried chicken tasted like it was fried in old oil. The chicken skin was not crispy and very bland. The bacon wrapped wings tasted old and were just not good. The bathroom had this funky off putting smell, I had to walk 3 blocks to use the bathroom at 7/11. The appetizers cost the same as the entrees, so expect to spend $40-50. I definitely would not find myself coming back here again.

I saw this place on YouTube as the top 10 haunted spots on Austin.
I stopped in and had a draft IPA, a whiskey the bartender suggested, and some buffalo wings. They did my wings all drums which made me excited. The beer was ice cold and the whiskey did not disappoint.
The wings were some of the best wings I’ve ever had! Bartender had a great sense of humor and the people were very friendly. Loved the atmosphere and the place was clean.
If you are in the area it’s definitely worth the visit. And no ghostly apparitions either, lol

Really enjoyed the food here. Solid tavern food and perfect for watching a game. The Tavern Trio had thick, warm chips that I appreciated since I was dipping them in queso and guacamole (hate when chips break while dipping!). The salad was delicious — the corn relish and pecan really add to the salad (I was hesitant about them thinking there would be too much on the salad; I was wrong). Would order that salad again and again.

Everything was excellent! Brandon was very nice and took great care of us while here. Plenty of food for the prices. After getting our plates, we thought we should have got one meal and split as there was so much food.

Stopped by to watch the Arsenal football match and enjoy lunch and a beer. Great atmosphere, awesome staff, hearty food. Fish and chips came with a great portion for the price. Highly recommended as a neighborhood Austin spot.

After going to the UT vs Florida game, we were looking for a place to grab some food and drinks. Saw The Tavern had some great reviews and decided to check it out. The place was packed with college football fans and the atmosphere seemed great. We ordered the nachos and the mozzarella sticks as we thought appetizers would be a safe choice with the amount of people that were inside. It took almost 45 minutes to get the food and when it came out, I thought it was a joke. The mozzarella sticks were actually amazing, but these nachos were the most ridiculous nachos I have ever seen in my life. I think Napoleon Dynamite made better nachos than what we were served. It was 3 tortillas cut in half, smeared with refried beans and sprinkled with shredded cheese. If you’re hungry, I’d recommend not coming here while they are busy. If you want beer or drinks, you’ll probably be safe at anytime here. Whatever you do, do not get the nachos, Taco Bell nachos are far superior and way cheaper than this abomination.

Every time we’re back in town we hit this place up. Bar food is amazing, every server we’ve had is always a blast to talk to (Ricky especially) and we’re always happy with how good the vibes are from everyone at the bar. Love this place!

I have a service dog and they would not let me sit at the bar claiming it was too close to food service area. I have never been refused service at a bar. Sat in another area.

What a gem! I’m an Arsenal fan so it’s crazy that right here in Austin there’s a lively, old school bar for all the local Gunners. And they open early for the 8 am games. There was even a pop up store there one day to buy gear. I’m there twice a week. Great atmosphere.
