An incredible setting for exquisite cuisine. The Sycamore is a gourmet restaurant & steakhouse offering dinner, cocktails, a stunning bar, and baby grand piano with live music. A lounge area with pool table, fireplace, and cozy seating is adjacent to the dining room in this lovely building from the early 1900s that formerly served as Chatham Mills. The chef-designed cuisine varies with the seasons and incorporates local ingredients. USDA prime steaks, fowl, fish, creative vegetarian dishes, unique sides and small plates. The atmosphere is beautifully designed to embrace the old mill industrial and the historic appearance of the structure, as well as the artistic plates on its menu. Step out of the ordinary and into the extraordinary

We like Angus Barn and The Oaks a lot, but love this place. Great for anniversaries and special occasions.
Have been several times and they never disappoint.
Our server was Katlin. She was beyond fantastic!
We had a the burrata, which was so good. The steaks were great and the Mac and cheese side is a must!
We closed the night with pot de chocolate and coffee listening to the piano man.
Amazing time, amazing service.
Food: Was very tasty and well done, but I understand it’s fine dining, but wow were the portions small. Small entrees is fine if there are many courses, but the initial courses were practically bite sized. Dessert was great. but had to get Taco Bell after…lol
Drinks/Service: Our waitress was as kind as could be. But when you are paying prices like this, you expect a certain level of knowledge/professionalism. Tried to order 2 different wines, both were not available even though they were on the menu. She recommended a similar one, and my date asked for characteristics of the wine, and she just started reading the back label… lol. Then got charged $60 when it said $50 on the menu but didnt even feel like arguing it.
Overall: It’s a beautiful place. The food was high quality. But for those prices, you really expect something high level, and it’s just solid. You could go to other places in Raleigh and spend $150 for something that would be more memorable.
the side dishes ($15 extra each ) are not needed since the main course has a healthy portion -regardless the waitress tells you otherwise- . Homemade ginger beer is delicious. Dinner for 2 adults, 1 child $200.
The crunch of the bruschetta bread with the soft cheese and rich balsamic was a treat. But the star of the appetizers has to be the steak tartare. The meat itself is tender and juicy. The flavors explode in your mouth and on top of the crunchy bruschetta, it was amazing.
The steaks are all from Creekstone Farms, arguably the best cuts of meat in the US. The ribeye was so marbled I could feel the sizzle. It’s the kind of steak that whispers, ‘You deserve this.’
The filet was just uicy, buttery, and so tender it practically is spreadable. We paired it with a Montalcino, and it was a match made in carnivore heaven.
The Tilefish was flaky and sweet. So much flavor packed in a delicate package.
The sides are shareable for sure. Haw River foraged mushrooms, Mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts all paired well with the steak and even the sprouts worked with the fish.
The only criticism is the live music (piano) was a little bit loud for conversation. The piano player was talented for sure. With the limited space it’s hard to turn the volume down on a piano, it is definitely understandable.
