We loved everything about this restaurant. After a few days of indulging in delicious Thai food, we were ready for a little break. For some people that might mean pizza—but for us, it meant trying Burmese cuisine. And The Swan absolutely delivered. It certainly helped that it was just a few steps from our hotel.
We noticed a few comments especially from Burmese diners mentioning that the food isn’t entirely authentic Burmese. Since we don’t have much experience with Burmese cuisine to compare it to, we simply judged the dishes based on taste. And based on what we ordered, everything was delicious.

The tastiest food I had in Chiang Mai.Never having been to Myanmar, I can only compare it to Burmese food I’ve had in New York and London, and this came out on top. Lots of flavour, and if you like it spicy, they won’t disappoint. Service was initially slow, but very helpful once it was underway. Very nice atmosphere in this place and far calmer than the night markets.

My first time tasting Burmese food, I am happily surprised, it was very nice! We really liked the tea leaf salad and the stir fried pork – sar pia if I remember correctly. Very kind people too! Definitely a restaurant I will recommend to my friends when they will be visiting Chiang Mai!

One of the best meals I’ve ever had, + really cute cats bobbing about. Green tea leaf salad was amazing. The service was great and the atmosphere is very peaceful. Highly recommend!

My first time back in years, and since the ownership changed. Food is still wonderful. Margaritas are a disappointment now, tho. Served half full and not strong. They should revisit the original recipe.

Our experience was really disappointing. The staff were unfriendly and didn’t give us a warm welcome — they didn’t even say hello or “Mingalarbar.” After arriving in Chiang Mai, we searched on Google Maps and found this Burmese restaurant, which had quite good reviews. However, the prices were much higher than other Burmese restaurants, and the food didn’t taste Burmese at all as I’m Burmese.Overall, it was not a good experience. I would not recommend this restaurant — the waitress and customer service were terrible.

Excellent choice if you are looking for a similar, yet different cuisine of the Thai one.
Nice and kind, English speaking stuff and delicious dishes!
