My bf and I dined in here and had the beef gyoza, miso soup, yellow and salmon nigiri, the Jay roll, and Dynamite Rolls. Everything was delicious! Server was great and attentive without being overbearing. Su Chief did great making the sushi. Will definitely come back.

I’ve tried Sushi at several restaurants in the down river area, and The Sushi Bar is BY FAR my #1 choice. (No competition)
I ordered the Lobster Cigar- All of my big back desires were met. Do yourself a favor and place your order. They are made fresh, hot and every bite will melt in your mouth.
I also ordered the Dragon roll and the chicken teriyaki roll and once again, they were also freshly made and very delicious.

Hands down the best sushi spot in the area (and in the surrounding areas). I wasn’t expecting it to be so great, but the reviews are spot-on.
We tried a couple different items – California Roll, Wonder Salmon Roll, Alaskan Roll (not pictured, I ordered it to-go), and Love Roll. Everything was amazing and fresh. Of the four we tried, I highly recommend the Wonder Salmon Roll; it was delicious. I want to try a lot more things, so I plan on making the trip (about 40 minutes) several more times in the near future. It’s absolutely worth the drive.
The place is small, but clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
I honestly can’t say enough great things about this place and I absolutely highly recommend it. It has a large enough menu that everyone will find something they like.
Also, a neighboring table ordered the Love Boat and it looked so pretty that I asked if I could take a photo… so, we did not order it nor try anything off it it; the photo was purely for its beauty and my Google review. For what it’s worth, the couple who ordered it really seemed to enjoy it and ate about 95% of it.

We’ve ordered here many times and it’s been consistently good. The roll rotation keeps it interesting, and overall it’s a reliable spot we come back to. Occasionally there are small misses, but nothing that stops us from reordering.

The BEST sushi in Detroit! The omakase was out of this world! Kudos to the chef – every course was a delight to the palate, and we couldn’t stop being amazed by every little dish that came out. Also, our server was very nice and so pleasant to talk to. The house was packed but we noticed that she attended to every person like they were the only ones there. Thank you so much for the wonderful dinner experience! We will definitely come back 🙂

This sushi place has the most amazing fried rice! When you mix it with the spicy mayo and eel sauce its just heavenly. The sushi it self its great the taste the way its post together and they are big rolls. The ginger salad was really good and so was the miso soup, service is fast and very well priced, we were very pleased.
