Came late night for a bomb and paid extra for added Mac and cheese bites. They didn’t even put them in the sandwich. Very disappointed for not fulfilling a simple order especially when I paid extra.

I so wanted to like this place but the meat was really salty and it took way to long to get our food (both times I’ve been it took 25+ minutes to get two sandwiches when the store was near empty). Sauces didn’t stand out or add any dimension to the flavor of the meat. Staff seemed slightly confused but always had a smile. Have tried a variety of sides and they are all ok. I would not recommend the hush puppies and the corn bread is nothing special.

Brisket platter includes one small tray and one side….and thats it…for $10.49. No cornbread or drink included with the combo. Brisket was tender but very oily and fatty. Every bite was mostly fat and little meat. Customer service was okay (woman at the register) but once she stopped helping you she began arguing with her co-worker who seemed to be her boyfriend as well. Very unprofessional and loud enough to hear throughout restaurant. One good thing was the restroom. It was clean. Overall, terrible experience and I will not be returning.

I was very disappointed with the food. The BBQ chicken was probably 75 degrees fahrenheit, the cornbread was flat, chewy, and slightly stale. The sauces were watery and lack thickness and flavor.

The only redeeming quality of the restaurant was the service and the decent prices. But unfortunately I will never be visiting again. Nandos is literally right next door and their food was always hot when I visited them half a dozen times. Go elsewhere.

I used a Groupon to try out Fat Pete’s for the first time. It was delicious, solid BBQ. I had the brisket, pulled pork, and mac and cheese. It’s similar to Mission BBQ, not as good as Hill Country BBQ, and much better than Urban BBQ. Price was about right for quality BBQ at around $12-15. Will visit again (partly because the Groupon was a 2 voucher deal). I’d recommend it to friends.

I don’t like giving poor reviews, but I do not wish to be dishonest. There were many issues that stood out with the place. I’m going to approach them in no particular order of importance.

1. The music. The restaurant was playing off the radio, possibly to save on costs. There was at least one point where I heard 8 minutes of straight commercials that were fairly loud.

2. Food quality. The chicken tenders had the same consistency as a Mcchicken. The meat was grinded up into the same “paste” like consistency. The sandwich bread was wet. This might be due to the iceberg lettuce being drenched in water and wetting the bread. I’m just not very happy with eating soggy bread.

3. The quantity. Having a medium portion of low quality food is stomachable. Having a massive amount of low quality food makes you feel absolutely terrible. I honestly don’t see myself visiting the location again unless it’s to try out their milkshakes.

Overall, I just did not leave the place feeling like it was the best choice. That’s okay though, everyone learns what sort of food is tolerable around the college park area.

Consistency is obviously an issue here. After attempting to get an order of ribs for the last 3 days, I think I’m just going to give up. The first two days, arriving around 6 p.m., I was told that there will be over an hour wait for ribs. Today arriving at 7:45 p.m., the restaurant is closed. The posted closing time is 10 p.m. There has also been issues in the past with Eat24 orders not being seen/prepared until my arrival in the store. When it’s good, it’s good. When it’s bad, you’ll be left hungry.

Cons:
Severely understaffed.
Employee moral seems very low.
Very small side dish portions.
Potatoes in potato salad were crunchy and distinctly under-cooked.
Beef brisket was very dry and had grey color.
Sauce selection was not flavorful, generic at best(excluding “Texas Mop” sauce).
The “Texas Mop” sauce was spoiled and rancid. I used a to-go container and the bubbles from the fermentation caused the cover to pop off from the pressure. The aroma and appearance resembled old garbage bag discharge (I’m not trying to be funny).
Money wasted.
Horrible customer experience.

Pros:
Ribs were not bad in texture, even though they could use way more smoke and flavor.
Macaroni and cheese flavor was not bad, even though they were more on the starchy side than cheesy.
The lady server told me to have a good day on my way out.

Overall:
I gave two stars based on the barely satisfactory ribs and macaroni w/cheese, every other aspect about this establishment was horrific.
This place is in need of dire overhal or needs to be closed permanently.
This was my first and last time at this establishment, definitely not worth the money and time.
Hopefully this review will serve useful to both the owners and patrons alike. Good luck.

I came here today with a friend of mine and we were instantly turned off by the atmosphere and the lack of customer service. The server name is Kristal according to my receipt, and in my opinion, she was very rude to us, and the customer who ordered before us. Before I ever spend as much money as I did for very little options, no sides included or drinks, I’ll happily drive the extra 15 minutes and go to Mission BBQ where not only do I feel welcomed as a paying customer, but the quality of food is well worth it.

Not good unless you’re really drunk/hungover or high. I ordered “The Godfather” on the 8″ Amoroso Roll and the bread was soaked on the bottom which made the sandwich fall apart and was overall quite tasteless. Who wants to eat wet bread? Disgusting. The bland tasting “chopped ribeye” was cold and obviously precooked and looked very similar to a steak and cheese from Subway, very low quality. The fries and the mozzarella sticks (only 2 small sticks in the sandwich ) we’re also cold which indicates everything they serve was not fresh. Who likes to eat cold precooked mozzarella sticks? The owners obviously aren’t “foodies” and they only opened this restaurant for the money (good luck) and they have no taste buds. Cannot recommend this established and doubt they will be around much longer, I certainly will not be returning.
