Hidden Gem in Old Town! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I stopped by for an early dinner during ALX Restaurant Week and was so impressed. The staff was incredibly accommodating, squeezing me in last minute.
I was pleasantly surprised to find this is a Marriott Bonvoy Autograph Collection property—the “cozy yet grand” vibe is perfect.
The Food: Delicious, high-quality “tapas-plus” portions. The presentation was beautiful and romantic.
The Service: 5/5. Superb timing and very welcoming to solo diners.
Whether you’re visiting for a special event or just a nice treat, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I went here on a Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary. We were given 2 complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary which was really nice. The atmosphere was great and there was someone there playing the piano as well. For appetizers we ordered the Empanadas and the Croquettes. Both were really good however the empanadas only came with 2 and the croquettes came with 3. So the appetizers were a bit on the small side. For entrees my wife ordered the ARROZ CON MARISCOS and I ordered the BISTEC ENCEBOLLADO. My wife enjoyed her entree and said that it was good. My entree was good as well, however it was not very filling and was only a couple of pieces of steak. The steak was very flavorful, however it was not much and did not come with any sides or anything else. I was still pretty hungry after we left which is never a good thing when you leave a restaurant. The service was great and our waiter was very attentive. The restaurant is really nice with great service and a nice ambiance. However, I do feel like there was not much food given for the entrees and appetizers despite the flavor. You never want to leave a restaurant still feeling hungry.

Perfect for date night. It has a cozy ambiance and the staff were friendly and professional. Cocktails were created by their mixologist and the 3 we tried were wonderful. For food we ordered the tuna and octopus tostadas as starters. Our mains were steak which was cooked and seasoned perfectly and a seafood dish (muscles, clams, octopus & rice). They have live music thrus-sat. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their menu.

Went on a Saturday evening. The Study is located in a cute hotel just off the Main Street. The restaurant is nicely decorated, feels cozy and modern. The service by Shawn and the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful. Food and drinks were really amazing (salmon, empanada, duck with mole), with Latin influences. Highly recommend the tres leches dessert which is a family recipe (have it with coffee ). The pliant player had us going to the bar after for an after dinner drink and chatting with people at the bar. A great night!

Excellent! We were blown away by each dish, on the two nights we stayed at the Morrison House. 1st time we ate at the bar while listening to lovely piano-playing. The 2nd night we reserved a table at the Study & the ambiance & food were both phenomenal. Sean, our server was so friendly, funny, & attentive! Loved every dish & moment there!

I don’t ever leave reviews due to my laziness, but today I decided to leave my very first review for this lovely place! This is our first experience at The Study. I honestly didn’t know what to expect as the restaurant seemed quite small.
We knew about the l live piano performance but it exceeded our expectations. Derek’s performance was so lovely and he sings really well! We love musics like such so it definitely made our experience even better!
Sean served us and he is absolutely a pleasant person to be greeted by – very friendly and sweet. Take his recs!
The food? It absolutely blew my mind – so healthy, clean, yet very flavorful. I can tell that ingredients were very fresh. We had arroz con mariscos and fried fish with avocado rice. I got obsessed with the avocado rice that came with the fried fish – rich in olive oil and lime (i think)! We absolutely cleared our plates leaving nothing behind. Chef Guzman gave us complimentary gaspachos and desserts for us to try and she came to ask how things were, which I thought was lovely.
Cocktails – delicious!! we had the one with coconut cream and another one with guava. SO GOOD! I think we’d even come back just for the drinks as well.
We already know that we’ll be back here again very soon. Before coming in I thought it was a bit pricey but having had the experience the experience is worth every penny. I highly recommend for cozy family dinners and date nights. You won’t regret!!

Wow…. Great food, even better service, and the music was the best. Loved Derek on the piano. It wasnt too loud and or too soft. Every drink and food item was on point. The smoked Twin Ambassadors were delicious! Don’t pass on the cevichitio either, you won’t be disappointed. We also had the bistec encebolladilo (wagyu), pork iberico, and arroz con mariscos. Everything was cooked to order and so delicious. Oh, dessert, the chocolate sampler (really just one piece of delicious cake) and the tres leches were great! We will certainly return.

We went here for NYE, and from the moment we walked in, we were completely taken care of. We were able to get a last-minute reservation; however, I did not look at the menu and realized there was a special event menu that was limited and not very vegetarian-friendly. Yet when I told our waiter, Sean, he spoke to the kitchen, and the chef, Maddy, made something just for me. The vegetarian dish was absolutely delicious, and the rest of my party said the pork dish was just as tasty. All the appetizers, cocktails, and desserts were so good, and we will definitely go back. The staff took care of me without even batting an eye. We could not have had a better experience.
