My husband and I took a quick trip to Highlands today and ate at The Stubborn Buddha. It was fantastic! The atmosphere, service, food, and drinks were fabulous! We both ordered an adult beverage and enjoyed the calamari as an appetizer. The calamari was very different from what we’ve had before, but it was very tender and delicious. I ordered the salmon Buddha Bowl and my husband had the KFC Buddha Bowl. Both were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend enjoying a meal at this restaurant.

All around amazing! Food, atmosphere, and service was outstanding. We started with some delicious apps then had the duck, the pork chop, fried rice with pork belly and pork loin, and the chicken curry. All were cooked to perfection and taste wonderful. Would highly recommend. Yes, the prices aren’t noted online, but they are printed on the menu so you know what you are spending when you place your order. Worth every penny.

Went here to celebrate a new job – and was so excited after seeing online (and in the menu posted outside the restaurant) they had Ora King salmon, Hokkaido scallops, and bluefin toro – real top notch stuff!

When we arrived, they had 0/3 of them. We ordered the Indian noodle appetizer, the crispy rice tuna, and the pad Thai with prawns, among other things.

All of it was “fine”. I could have gone to a cheaper Japanese restaurant and got better crispy rice, cheap Thai and gotten better pad Thai, or cheap Indian and gotten better Indian.

At least I could wash it down with a cold hazy IPA from the can! (They have no beers on draft.)

The service was good though – it was our guys second day – so their wait staff hiring is good!

Also atmosphere was alright… but what’s with the giant wall sized prophet portrait that dominates the entire restaurant?

We will unfortunately not be back – which is a bummer because I wanted to love it. If you want some more helpful feedback on the dishes…. The crispy rice was overly fried and covered in sauce – make the rice cake thicker, and then chill it and lightly fry it. On the pad Thai – lighter in sauce, focus on fresh herbs and lime, and don’t skimp on shrimp. On the Indian noodle dish… maybe just scrap that one. And get some local beers on tap.

Our takeaway from this restaurant is Vivian, our super friendly and helpful server. The food was good. We had several appetizers including the Brussels, dumplings, and some bun things. The dumplings, paired with one of the sauces they brought, were by far the most tasty. Our cocktails were pretty good. The atmosphere is really nice but if we were to go back, it would be for Vivian. She was the most delightful part of the evening!

We stopped in tonight and had the most incredible experience from start to finish. This restaurant only opened in January, and you can feel the heart and soul they’ve poured into it — the vibe is immaculate, warm, and instantly welcoming.

Mackee, our bartender,  was amazing. She’s new to town but treats every guest like she’s known them forever. SO sweet, so genuine, and so passionate about her craft.

She recommended the Korean pear cocktail and it was insane. We ended up ordering 3 more. Honestly one of the best cocktails we’ve ever had.

Food was incredible and unique. This place deserves to be packed every night. Amazing drinks, great food, and service that makes you feel like family. Mackee and the other patrons made the entire experience unforgettable.

If you’re even thinking about trying this spot, GO. You’re going to fall in love with it just like we did.

Oh, AND there’s a roof top seating section that overlooks Main St.

Such a great blend of Food choices and the best moist tender duck i have ever had. Everyone in our party of 8 loved their dishes and app. Lachia our server was great and informative as were all the personnel. The ambiance was very comfortable with a great option to sit at the bar in a separate room. We even brought our grandchild and had no issues. I highly recommend a try and i am sure after that you will rebook as will we. Cheers !

Also new this year we wanted some Chinese. After having such great meals for Thanksgiving, steak dinners etc, so we are very excited to try the new stubborn Buddha.

For starters we had the dumplings, you could tell they were homemade but unfortunately over fried. The calamari was cooked perfect and was very tender. The crunchy rice was simply delicious.

For entrees we had the fried duck, it was good but not great, lacked flavor and the side of potatoes didn’t go together.

The waghu beaf plate was the best out of all four of our main dishes.

The chicken lomaine was way too salty. Unedible, actually just couldn’t eat it. It was so bad.

The chicken curry, however, was really good. We enjoyed it, tender lots of great flavor, perfectly done.

Our service was great both at the bar and at the table.

Would I go here again? I would definitely go for the appetizers. They were the best part of all the dishes we ate.

I LOVE this restaurant!!! My boyfriend took me here for our first date and it will always hold a special place in my heart. The location is so stunning, the atmosphere is wonderful, the service is always exceptional and the food blows me away everytime. I’m so proud of the work Clarissa (the owner) does here and it really is a whole new world of fine dining! I highly recommend.

This place is fantastic! Was in town for the weekend and stopped in during the day simply to check it out and absolutely loved the rooftop vibes and decided to return the next evening. The apps and cocktails were delicious but above all the service was top notch! As the night got cooler, they brought us warm blankets and turned up the heat lamps and ensured we were well taken care of…on top of that, our server went above and beyond to help us secure transportation services for our return back home! Great hospitality, great, cool place, decadent food/cocktails, highly recommend.
