If you’re staying at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Rochester and don’t feel like venturing out into the cold for dinner, The Street Craft Kitchen & Bar on the lobby level is a solid, no-nonsense choice. It doesn’t try to be a five-star white-tablecloth establishment, which is exactly why it works for a casual meal or a quick drink after a long day of meetings.
The vibe is “upscale hotel lounge meets local gastropub.” It’s open and modern, but comfortable enough that you don’t feel out of place showing up in jeans or even your travel gear. It’s got that urban, “street-side” energy that matches its name, and because it’s right in the heart of downtown near the Convention Center, you get a good mix of travelers and locals stopping in for a craft beer.
Speaking of beer, they do a great job of representing Rochester. They usually have about a dozen local brews on tap—look for anything from Genesee or Three Heads—which is a nice touch for anyone wanting a taste of the city without leaving the building. The menu itself is straightforward American fare: burgers, flatbreads, and salads. However, if you want the “true” Rochester experience, they actually serve a version of the famous Garbage Plate (the “Roc City Plate”). It’s a greasy-spoon staple turned into a hotel entree, and honestly, it’s a must-try if you’ve never had one.
The service is generally what you’d expect from a Hyatt—professional, friendly, and fairly quick. It’s the kind of place where the bartenders are happy to give you a recommendation on a local IPA or just leave you alone to catch up on emails. It isn’t cheap, but for the convenience of being right in the lobby, it’s a fair trade-off. It’s reliable, predictable, and does the job without any unnecessary fluff.

The food was definitely good and came out looking and tasting as I would expect. What set this experience apart was the service. The gentlemen on duty were exceptional. I was chatting with them about a band I loved and they put the music on by the band immediately. It made my day. Thanks for delivering true hospitality and a lovely dining experience

The food was way too salty. My steak was cooked correctly (medium rare), but it was full of gristle. Our waitress/bartender was sweet, but she didn’t know how to make a transfusion, and when I asked her what beers she had on tap, she said, “we have some light beers, some IPAs,” (and then she said something else that I don’t remember, because I already stopped listening to her ramble off her generic beer menu). It just wasn’t a very good experience overall. I won’t be coming back, and recommend other people to not waste their time. I wish I could recommend some other place instead, it I am not from here.

Came here on time constraints of 2.5 hours until our concert. No direction as to how to be seated. No idea how to get drink or food ordered. (Spoiler alert: its only the bartender).
My friend ordered food. Gave his card. Said they didn’t need it, yet. I ordered food, they took my card. My friend said he was confused, so I confirmed his order for him. Still wouldnt take his card, but his order “was in”. 30 min later… my food came and was given to…. the front desk? I thought I saw it go by. 15 min later… it was brought back and arrived at my table.
Still no order for my friend.
Asked another bartender. He said “hes new, he doesnt know how to place orders. You wont be getting your food”
2 hours after arrival. No food.
Worst service ive ever received. Nothing to apologize. Nothing at ALL done to make it right. Overpriced. Wouldn’t recommend to worst enemy.
As others have said **1 star is a gift**

As guests as the Hyatt we decided to eat at the Street and we were quite impressed with the dinner menu, service and the quality of the food.

The artic char, steak frites and street salad with grilled chicken were all outstanding. The delicious dessert consisted of coffee and cheesecake with raspberry coulis.

I would certainly try to dine here again in the future.

(Winter 2022) – CORSO is the Italian genre bar and restaurant on the main floor of the Hyatt Regency Rochester, New York USA. They serve mixed drinks, cocktails, and many beers from local breweries. Scan the provided QR code for kitchen selections and food menu. The serving staff is friendly and courteous; always service with a smile. It’s a good place to refresh yourself after work. The kitchen for meals usually closes near 10:00 PM. Hotel room service and take out is available from the dinner menu. You might occasionally hear music or dancing from a special event downstairs. Enjoy good food. Make or bring a friend at CORSO! Please remember to tip your server generously. Enjoy!

Went with some friends for lunch after the car show. We got the Maple Brussel sprouts for an app and they were the best Brussel sprouts I have ever had. I would highly recommend them. Also got the 50/50 burger, which was good, I would recommend some type of sauce for the burger thought that would go with the caramelized onions and pickles. Outside of that it was really good. Would go back.

Nice little bar inside the Hyatt. The bar is nicely stocked with high end liquor. Complaint was the “bar food” they need to up their variety. I did enjoy the hummus plate. If you are staying here at the Hyatt, this is the place to congregate
