I have stayed at this hotel several times, and i must say that the service with the staff is consistently amazing. I had the pleasure to speak with Salim in the morning during breakfast service and I must say, he is the definition of hospitality. He is very welcoming, friendly and professional. He clearly is passionate about how everything is presented and organized for breakfast. I love the hotel but Salim definitely adds a touch of hospitality and warmth to breakfast service. I would like to see more different options for breakfast. Also, the eggs were cold both mornings. The spinach quiche was delicious and hot, and the fruit was fresh.

Had such a great night at The Storyteller hotel restaurant in Hyde Park with my family. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted, the vibe felt warm, welcoming, and just genuinely inviting.
Our server, Luis, was awesome. He had great knowledge and insights about the wine list and helped guide us to a local bottle we probably wouldn’t have picked on our own, and we ended up loving it.
The food was fantastic across the board. The tapas-style menu was perfect for sharing, trying a bunch of different things, and just enjoying the meal together instead of being locked into one meal each. The proximity to the Culinary Institute can definitely be seen.
The only slightly odd part of the evening was that the manager seemed to be watching the dining room, and especially our table and the waiter, pretty closely, which created a bit of a tense vibe at moments. There was also a noticeable lingering smoke-like scent near the entrance that felt out of place with the otherwise polished atmosphere.
Overall though, we had an amazing experience and will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, a relaxed-but-special atmosphere, and a team that really cares about what they’re doing.

I went to the Storyteller on 3/2/26. The atmosphere was very delightful. Even from the parking lot. I really liked the view from Rt. 9 as well. The placed looks almost majestic. Now the service was top tier. Our server, Luis was A1. No wonder, I found out he’s a CIA student! As a person who studied food and restaurant management, Luis is a definite asset to the Storyteller. He is a prime reason for my decision to become a regular there. The food was also very tasty. I’m excited to experience items from their spring menu. This was the first of many outings I will have at the Storyteller. Thanks Luis for a great experience!

The Storyteller Hotel was an amazing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is beautiful, cozy, and full of character—truly a special place to stay. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, which made the stay even better.

Great experience at Storyteller.
The cocktail menu is creative, balanced, and well thought out especially the Valentine’s Day menu. I had the premium Old Fashioned, and my wife ordered the cherry espresso martini, which was absolutely out of this world.
Even on a packed, high energy Valentine’s Day night, Hugo behind the bar really stood out. We watched him handle the rush with confidence and precision while still giving every guest maximum effort, which was truly appreciated. Warm atmosphere, smooth service, and a memorable night overall.

We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. The scallops recommended were truly out of this world ! Perfectly prepared and full of flavor. I also heard there’s a new menu coming soon, and after this visit, I’ll definitely be back to try it. The drinks were excellent as well, but what truly made the evening special was the service at the bar. Hugo, the bartender, really led the experience. He has such a warm, engaging personality and made us feel completely welcome from the moment we sat down. As a Hyde Park resident for over 25 years, I genuinely appreciate the direction this hotel is heading. It’s so nice to see such quality and care being put into both the food and hospitality. I’m already looking forward to coming back, bringing friends, and of course, seeing Hugo again. He’s quite the character and made the night memorable.

The breakfast buffet at the Bellefield Inn at 25 Old Vineyard Pl., Hyde Park, NY is one of the nicest I’ve ever seen. They have everything you could expect for breakfast & the spread was laid out in such an organized & inviting way that it created a perfect atmosphere. All of the food was of high quality. It seemed as if they spared no expense. Salim & Abid were the breakfast attendants who my wife & I encountered & they were both so thoughtful, attentive, pleasant to interact with etc. They were awesome! It was something that I looked forward to getting up & early for every morning during my entire stay. I miss it already & hope to be back soon!!

What a great bar. Octagon shaped. Tons of character. You’re greeted with a leather book of cocktails, like something out of a JRR Tolkien novel. Bartender Hugo is out of this world talented. Cherry espresso martini was a special for Valentine’s weekend. Then he served me an old fashioned with a local bourbon that words couldn’t quite describe. Do yourself a favor and get over here for a drink! Food and hotel amazing as well.

We had an outstanding experience at The Storyteller. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what really made the night special were the people. Hugo and Sebastian were great conversationalist that made the evening truly enjoyable. Hugo, the bartender, crafted some truly exceptional cocktails—easily some of the best we’ve had in any hotel restaurant. Sebastian was equally impressive: personable, attentive, and sharp.
The menu was a very pleasant surprise—creative, flavorful, and far above what you’d expect from a hotel dining spot. We had the scallops and sweet/spicy chicken sandwich. We followed Hugo’s recommendations on drinks and dinner and everything was top notch.
Highly recommend stopping in whether you’re staying at the hotel or just looking for great drinks, great food, and great service.
