This place is a mixed bag. The owner came out and and greeted us personally–super nice guy. Very sweet and competent young server, as well.
On the one hand, their General Tso’s Chicken pizza is one of the BEST we’ve ever had. Delicious–except Ron found a one inch piece of hard clear sharp plastic in the pizza. I went looking for the server, and a woman at a table asked if she could help me (I think she’s the owner’s wife?). I told her about the plastic…and gave it to her. She didn’t act shocked, or apologize…but took it back to the kitchen.
No one said a word about it–owner didn’t come back to apologize. Server came with a raspberry cheesecake we didn’t order and I smiled and asked “What’s this? ” She said “for the plastic in the pizza”. I asked her what they thought it came from and she said something about the dough in the freezer, but they weren’t sure…?
The Onion Soup (pictured) was GROSS. Tasted like straight concentrated beef bouillon–SUPER salty. Yuck. When the server asked if I liked it (she raved about it)–I told her what I thought. Just got a weak “sorry”. I sent it back–couldn’t eat it. No offer to get me something else–and no $ off our bill (for anything).
Homemade chips with beef queso was DELICIOUS. Owner says he smokes all their meat. Ron says his pulled pork sandwich was OK–kinda mealy–and the hand cut fries were over-fried (too dark).
Menu options look unique and AMAZING, especially the pasta options (e.g. fettuccine with brisket and gnocchi carbonara). Atmosphere is gray–a hole-in-the-wall “mom and pop” restaurant (we’re not judging–it was clean, and food should be the star, anyway).
The Steel Plate ‘s pizza was SO good (plastic notwithstanding)–and their menu options enticing–but I’m not sure if we’ll be back. We happened to be in the area, so to go back, we’d have to make a special trip (45 minutes).

Went on a Friday night during lent and the place was pretty busy. I had the Heaven and hell chicken parm and it was amazing, scraped the plate clean. Another highlight was the smokehouse platter, which we had gotten before as well and it was legit, delicious smoked meat, turkey, pulled pork, and brisket…full of flavor and tender. My hubs got pierogis and the fish sandwich. The fish sandwich was well seasoned and cooked but needed a sauce to go with it…maybe the orange po’boy sauce would be good with it. Anyway, we will definitely be back to try more dishes for sure.

Honestly I don’t know what the hype is, but I tried it today. The brisket Alfredo, could use a lot of work, very under seasoned, the brisket was dry and had little to no flavor, and the Alfredo had like no seasoning, I had to put a lot of salt and pepper in it just for it to taste okay, could use a lot of work, shouldn’t be charging $24 for under seasoned food. The service was fast when it came to them bringing the food out but then no one was around or checked on us after we received our food, we had to find someone just for takeout containers, and we told them while they were getting the containers we needed the bill and then had to go find them again to get the bill. It’s a clean restaurant, and very quiet and peaceful, but overall the service could use some tweaks and the food could be seasoned better.

Everyone kept telling me I needed to try this place out. I’m kind of disappointed that I never stopped by before.
There’s not much seating, about 10 tables in one room. I couldn’t see how many in the next. The wait wasn’t that long either once we ordered our food.
The soups were really good, I was really surprised by the brisket vegetable soup. Not at all what I expected, but still really good. Very peppery. The loaded fries were on point. The chicken strips were absolutely soaked in sauce (garlic parm). I really enjoyed their fried risotto. It’s worth coming back for honestly.
The staff is very friendly and they did a wonderful job.

Best fish sandwich around! The menu is very unique. The hardest thing about coming here is deciding what I want to try. If you like a good Po Boy, the shrimp and catfish are both very good. The staff is always very friendly and the food doesn’t come out too early or late. It’s always worth the drive.

Newer restaurant. It was good but a little higher priced. We ordered black pepper fettuccine with brisket in it. Spaghetti and meatballs and a chicken. Parm meal. All came with a soup or salad. The garlic bread came with the meals and was also delicious. The ranch for the salad was good and the French onion soup also good. They were sold out of the pulled pork so I am guessing it is popular!

A spur of the moment decision. A scenic 55 minute drive to a delicious meal! There was only 2 other tables with patrons when we arrived. By the time our meals came, the place was filled, including the back area! So glad I decided to leave almost immediately after I seen the Pineapple dinner special or we wouldn’t have had a seat! lol. Everything was good! Don’t forget to sign the book when you leave!!

Oh my God. I’m so full. No regrets. The enormous fish sandwich is a thing to behold. My sister-in-law got the crab legs, and I would have been jealous, but jeez… So good…
