They do a great job & it shows they care . Just a much needed fresh new experience & menu options in the northwoods . Our children have celiac so gluten free dining options is a bonus for our family. May I add the hard to find Yellow fin Tuna appetizer is amazing ( my go too ) … as for the cocktail > Hendrix – Soda w / splash of tonic.. They were even nice enough upon my request to go to the kitchen and grab a cucumber as Hendrix’s Gin is cucumber based distilled = Killer drink !!

Keep up the great work & thank you ❤️

We stopped into The Steel Horse Saloon & Grill while we were out wheeling, and I’m seriously glad we did. The atmosphere was perfect—relaxed, welcoming, and exactly what you want after a long day on the trails. It’s the kind of spot that instantly feels like a local favorite, where you can kick back, refuel, and just enjoy the moment.

The service was insanely good from start to finish. Our server was friendly, fast, and genuinely on top of everything without ever making it feel rushed. Drinks stayed full, the food came out hot and quick, and the whole staff had that rare combo of being professional while still making you feel like you’re hanging out somewhere familiar.

And the food was an absolute 10/10 across the board. We crushed the Steel Horse Burger and the Bourbon Burger, and both were unreal—juicy, loaded with flavor, and cooked perfectly. We also tried the Honey Sriracha Chicken rice bowl, which was the perfect mix of sweet heat and comfort after wheeling, plus the house breaded chicken tenders that were crispy, tender, and ridiculously good. Everything tasted fresh, portions were solid, and not a single bite missed. If you’re anywhere near this place, do yourself a favor and stop in, Steel Horse is a must.

Pam was our bartender and we were allowed to order food even though it was after 8pm because the fryers were still on. Maddy was the cook at the time so thank you for making delicious boneless wings!! Dee was also working and we appreciate all of you!!!
I ordered the strawberry basil refresher and it was so fresh and yummy.

We stopped here while out on the trails and had a great time. They were having a karaoke contest a family member wanted to be part of, so we arrived early and grabbed a table (good thing and the place quickly filled up). Good food, and the service was very good for how busy they were. I’m guessing typically they are not quite so busy, people were everywhere without enough table and chairs. But everyone was having fun and the atmosphere was good. I would definitely go back.

I wish I could give our server Pam 10 stars! Food was fabulous. Definitely NOT your typical bar food. They have the basics, but their menu is elevated. An incredible rare ahi tuna appetizer, delightful tahini rimmed margaritas. And a $7 dollar makers mark Manhattan-perfectly prepared. That drink alone would be $19 bucks in the twin cities. Highly recommend this place!!

Food and service has been great both times we have went. Will definitely go back, burgers are good and the seared tuna is excellent.

(This has nothing to do with The Steel Horse establishment as they just hire someone to come in and run the karaoke event.) Both times was karaoke night run by the same lady, which is fun to watch. My only issue, is with the person running the karaoke, the music is too loud and it over powers the person singing most of the time.

Second time here and the food and service are top notch!! Friendly servers and locals.
Great stop on Hwy 53!!
Nice pool tables, and they just put in a boxing machine that the guys love to challenge each other!
FYI, Google calls the road to turn off from Hwy 53 as Deer Farm Rd. It is actually Antler Inn Rd on the hwy signs.
The Shrimp App comes with 6!

Absolutely fantastic place & SO happy they’re in our area! Good food & excellent drinks with a top notch staff! Highly recommend! The staff knows how to mix an excellent drink & the cooks know how to cook. Best Reuban I’ve ever had & my husband was impressed that they actually know how to make a Long Island Iced Tea! My personal favorite is the Expresso martini!

Great family friendly stop! Awesome selection of fresh fruit inspired cocktails. Burgers are really fresh beef and cook perfect with a little pink. Bartender was super sweet and good with the kids. We will definitely add this to our list of top restaraunts! Highly reccomended. It would be nice to have a couple low tops for small kids or older folks….but not a deal breaker.

Stopped here on our way from Duluth to Indiana. There were good reviews. And we were happily surprised. I had the broiled shrimp and the hubby had the patty melt. Both were very good.
