Dining at The Steakhouse was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we were seated, the staff went above and beyond to make sure our evening was special. They are attentive, flexible, and happy to accommodate unique requests, including dietary needs. I require all my dishes to be prepared gluten free, and they made every effort to ensure that each course was safe for me to enjoy without sacrificing flavor or presentation.

One example that stood out to me was when I asked if they could prepare a lump crabmeat cocktail. Although it wasn’t listed on the menu, the server was more than happy to arrange it. What arrived was beautifully presented in a light dressing, completely gluten free, and absolutely delicious.

For my entrée, I ordered the seafood special of the evening, sea bass topped with crabmeat and shrimp. The fish was perfectly prepared, melting in my mouth, and the accompaniments were flavorful and well balanced. The kitchen made sure everything was gluten free, including the mushrooms I ordered on the side, which were fabulous.

Meanwhile, my husband and boys shared the Tomahawk steak, a 40-ounce showstopper. Splitting it between three was perfect, and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Another standout was the appetizer my husband chose, seared scallops with risotto which he described as outstanding.

One thing to note: entrées take time to arrive, but this is by design. The pace is leisurely, giving you time to relax and enjoy appetizers, cocktails, and conversation without feeling rushed. Portions are generous, especially the sides, which are ideal for sharing. For instance, my boys shared the mashed potatoes, and the serving was more than enough.

In every way, The Steakhouse delivered a first class dining experience. The food was exceptional, the service thoughtful, and the gluten-free accommodations outstanding. If you’re in Galveston and looking for a memorable meal, this restaurant is an absolute must.

If I could give the atmosphere 10 stars, I would! This is the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion or for a romantic evening. My only drawback is that it was super cold in there. Ladies, take a wrap!

This was our second time dining at The Steakhouse at the San Luis Resort, and once again, it exceeded our expectations. Truly the #1 steakhouse in Texas! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The quality of the meat is outstanding—tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I ordered the lamb chops this time, and they were absolutely delicious.

Whether you’re celebrating something special or just looking for an unforgettable dining experience, I highly recommend The Steakhouse at the San Luis Resort. We can’t wait to come back again!

Known for their steaks, they also have great seafood options. Their crab cake was amazing, just as promoted like Vic & Anthony’s. Their Snapper dinner was also great. The atmosphere was nice but dated. Overall, it was a great experience, just a little pricey.

Outstanding. The steaks were fantastic. Our party had a ribeye, filet mignon, and a Kansas City strip steak. All tender, tasty, and cooked to perfection. The jumbo baked potato – wow. Sauteed Wild mushrooms excellent. First class service by Richard our waiter. Highly recommend. The ambience, lighting and mahogany walls were tastefully done and beautiful.

Service was impeccable. We went for a 70th Birthday and food temperature was much less than desirable. Crab cake was not hot, the spinach salad dressing was not hot and most of all the Filet was not hot. The chocolate cake tasted frozen. Crab cakes which we just had at Grotto two weeks before were hot, Steaks at Salt Grass have always been hot, and chocolate cake at Grotto has been much fresher. We have contacted Landry Select number, and Landry Customer service four times and have requested follow up and no one has returned our calls. We expected a much better experience for a 70th Birthday celebration.

If you are a hard working person and only have 1 meal to splurge on, don’t come here. You will be disappointed. Blame it on the chef. Horrible steak. I understand we are in a recession and businesses are struggling but so are hardworking families and if you market yourself as the best and perhaps pay for reviews, then deliver what you preach. Disappointed. I will not go back. The service and ambiance was superb, but the value and quality is not there. Maybe they switch chefs? Horrible. Bringing awareness to my hard working people. Trust me you better off going to Salt Grass for steak.

THIS PLACE ☆☆☆☆☆ is amazing! We went there to celebrate a big event in our life, and they did not disappoint! First off, they created a very pleasant, romantic and yet professional environment. The serving staff was terrific, professional and personable. We asked for Oysters Rockerfeller, which isn’t even on the menu, and they delivered. They can do this with a prior ask when you make your reservations. Their oyster Rockefeller is THE BEST ever, and WE travel! Request it in advance and you won’t regret it! Also, we tried the stuffed shrimp appetizer. This shrimp is graded as U2, meaning two shrimp make a pound. It’s butterflied and stuffed with several ounces of crab and delivered with this amazing butter sauce, (it was a special). Just do it! This special shrimp is imported from the Indian Ocean. O.M.G… YUM!! After some wonderful appetizers, I just wanted a light salad with their ahi tuna Ala cart. Again, they delivered. My husband’s scallops were huge and cooked perfectly! These were about an inch and a half in diameter and about an inch thick. Don’t forget to finish off your evening with a delicate, light and rich cheesecake! It’s worth it! You’re worth it! Enjoy!!!
