Welcome to The Station Taphouse and Eatery McCook, Nebraska’s go-to destination for good times, great food, and the best local craft beer. Born out of passion and a love for this community, The Station is the reimagined version of what was once The Loop Brewing Company—a cherished local hangout. In 2024, Jesse Pierson and his fiancée McKenzie Schmitz took over the reins, bringing with them a fresh vision, a deep commitment to quality, and a nod to the rich history that this space has come to represent. From our signature brick oven pizzas to the locally sourced Nebraska burgers, every dish on the menu is crafted with care and creativity.

We went to this place on a whim. Great pick! We got steak bites, and jalapeño poppers (that has bacon on the) as appetizers. My wife got a wrapped kraut burger, while I got the “working burger” and truffle fries. My burger had a fried egg on top. Service was snappy and the restroom was immaculate. The place was first rate from top to bottom. You’ll not be sorry coming to this joint.

This place was pretty good. Id for sure go again. Our server was really nice but she did forget the wings we ordered and though the Lobster Mac N Cheese looked AMAZING. The lobster was cooked to beef jerky dry. Our drinks were on point. We got The Spiced Pear Whisky Spur and a Peach Mule.

Ordered a Ruben came out, fatty light pink. Maybe they need to stop trying to do their own brisket there. But then to get accused of not tipping, which had nothing to do with the sandwich. We were having a nice evening. Then jesse sends out a waitress, that we haven’t had in months, to discuss tge issue. She then says, well, I really don’t know what’s going on. So maybe justin needs to go have some more customer service classes

I have been a patron of the Loop since they opened. Sorry they closed so we tried this place since they bought the restaurant. Most of the items are the same however the price has changed greatly and the service has dropped greatly. I had the ribeye sandwich. What a disappointment. If you like beef jerky with some drops of sauce and two onion rings great for $16. . Cooked till dried up. All sides are extra. No entrees come with sides. $3, $4 or $5 depending on what you think want. $9 beers. Waited 5 min for a waitress to come and at least 15 min for the first drink to arrive. Don’t seem to care about customers at all. As you can see by their response. Also they charge a fee to use credit cards. Sorry that is the cost of doing business now a days. No one pays by cash. As a 4th generation in McCook I would pass this place by.

Atmosphere, food variety, quality and service are always a must for restaurants, and they do it well.
But what separates The Station from others is consistency!
Always a warm and friendly place to visit.
NEW treats to try with high quality ingredients, or classic burgers and Pizza for those who like it old school.
From Tuesday lunch sandwiches, to Friday Night Crab Rolls and a large Boss Hog Pizza. Whatever it is, flavor and smiles every time.
It always hits the spot, has been since they first lit the brick oven, and will be until the end of time.

We eat here basically every time we travel through McCook because I just LOVE IT! Their cocktail menu is always so festive with its rotating options (had the Highland Zephyr this time and it was so good I had to order a second.) We also almost always get the Tri Bites for an appetizer because they are so fire and the sauce it comes with is the perfect match. We tried their beer cheese and French onion soups this time and they were both phenomenal as were the burgers and huge side of pickle fries for just $3!! What a deal!

I love eating here. The restaurant is unique and i really enjoy the seasonal cocktail menus and the stupid pizza of the week that changes constantly. The service here is always wonderful. I can find something to order here for any occasion and often get takeout. Another bonus is the Prarie Sage cooler that has other delicious goodies for sale including the cult favorite street corn dip. 5 stars all around.

I make sure to visit The Station every time I’m in the area (love it even more now with the new owners). It is one of those rare spots that gets everything right. The décor is incredibly cool and unique — every corner feels thoughtfully designed, and the ambiance makes it just as perfect for a casual night out as it is for a special occasion. The staff is always warm and attentive — I’ve never once had to flag anyone down because they’re already on top of everything.
Both the drinks and food are creative, delicious, and constantly evolving with fun new ideas. It’s clear they put real heart into their menu. Best of all, everything is well-priced for the quality you get.
If you’re looking for a place that consistently delivers great vibes, great service, and great flavors, The Station is a must-visit.

If you’re looking for a place that gets everything right, look no further than The Station Taphouse. From the moment you walk in, the hosts greet you with the kind of warmth that makes you feel like you’ve been coming there for years. They’re friendly, attentive, and set the tone for an experience that only gets better.
The servers are absolute pros—quick on their feet, genuinely kind, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They check in at just the right times, never hovering but always there when you need them. It’s the kind of service that feels effortless, but you know it’s coming from a team that really cares.
And the bartenders? Top-tier. Whether you want something classic, something craft, or something completely off-menu, they’ve got you covered. Drinks come out fast, balanced, and made with obvious skill. The energy behind the bar is fun, upbeat, and infectious.
Then there’s the food—fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. Every plate looks good, tastes incredible, and leaves you wanting to try something else on the menu. It’s comfort food elevated in all the right ways.
From start to finish, The Station Taphouse delivers an experience that deserves every bit of praise. Amazing staff, amazing food, amazing atmosphere. This is the kind of restaurant you come back to again and again

This place is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! The ribeye steak sandwich is unreal—perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. The pizza is fantastic, with a crispy crust and perfectly balanced toppings. The mac and cheese is creamy and indulgent, and the wings are out of this world with over 20 sauces to choose from! The cocktails are expertly crafted, and the service is top-notch—friendly and attentive. Plus, the restaurant offers the best view of the trains coming through, adding to the overall vibe. I can’t recommend this spot enough for amazing food, drinks, and a great atmosphere!
