Raw chicken….

Really wish I could leave a more positive review, but I feel it’s important to share this for food safety awareness. We went in for lunch last week and ordered the fried chicken. We were told it would take about 15 minutes to fry, which was completely reasonable.

When the chicken arrived, it looked great on the outside. Fortunately, I cut into the breast before eating. The entire center of the chicken was completely raw and had not been cooked.

I notified our waitress, who took the plate away but did not apologize. I then ordered the chicken-fried steak, which was good. I was a bit surprised that just my order was not comped. I understand this is not required, but it would have been appreciated given the situation.

I’m mainly posting this as a safety heads-up to others. Please be sure to cut into and check your chicken before eating. Had I not done so, I would have bitten into raw chicken, which obviously poses a health risk.

Service – fantastic. The cook was lovely. The cashier was brilliant. Food, best in town. Biscuits were fluffy and so were the eggs. Cheese melty. I will make my stop a habit every time I’m in town. I wish it could be more often.

The location is great, decor is nice, and outdoor eating is a great option. It was too cool this morning to eat outside and without umbrellas it will be too hot soon.
We did not like our Philly Cheese Steak Sub. It was small, mushy, and just wasn’t very good. The onion rings were hard.
My husband said the tea was good. We were asked if we wanted ketchup and said yes. We had to request it after the food was delivered.
The restaurant has potential. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items.

I came with a party of 7, so 8 of us total. Server wasn’t very friendly, and seemed clueless. Several of our 8 orders were messed up. I asked for a biscuit base and received a hash-brown base, when i asked for my order to be corrected, i was given the biscuit base but the eggs and cheese were simply moved from the other bowl to the new one, leaving hash-browns in my food. thankfully I am not allergic or that could have been a serious problem. other members of my party received half their order. one ordered chocolate chip pancakes and received one plain and one chocolate chip, and another member ordered plain pancakes and received one of each as well. items of the orders were forgotten, like toast and biscuits, and had to be asked for to receive them. Not the worst place I have ever been to but would never return.

Best lunch I’ve had a in LONG time. Certainly one of the best “homestyle” meals!! Country fried steak and Gravy is absolutely the best! Great service, portion sizes are more than enough! It looked so delicious I didn’t even snap a picture before I started munching! If you haven’t you have to give this spot a chance!

Order the same dinner twice in a row on two separate visits back in Oct and Nov. Had the hamburger steak. Both times the smell and taste was terrible. I would not feed this dish to my dog. My wife ordered fried chicken on both visits. Grease both times. Have not gone back since. We are retired and eat out a lot. This is one restaurant we won’t go back too. I hope the owners will do something to correct these issues.

Finally stopped to try this new restaurant in Dawsonville. The breakfast was outstanding with quality eggs and meats cooked perfectly. The service was fast and friendly. They have the best grits I’ve tasted outside of my house and the biscuits are like by wife’s grandma’s. Well worth the stop. Looking forward to trying them for dinner next.

The food is okay, average. The service was okay, my server seemed clueless. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and hashbrowns. The menu says grilled cheese with one choice of side is $5.69. My total was $16 and I had a water to drink. When I asked why it was so high they said it was the shredded cheese and onions additions in the hashbrowns. A $10 up charge for shredded cheese and onions is wild. I didn’t argue because that’s embarrassing to argue over money in public. I’ll just never return. The hashbrowns were mushy and greasy, the cheese wouldn’t even stick to them. They weren’t even brown on the outside. The grilled cheese was a grilled cheese.

Station House a stylish, cozy place on Main Street in Dawsonville. It is usually filled with customers. My 3 year old granddaughter gives the Mac n cheese a 2 thumbs up! The staff was kind and patient with us, too!
