We ate hear on April 26th of 2025 and it was amazing quality as well as service and in a wonderful location with an amazing atmosphere. We have stumbled upon this place about 3 times in the past 8 years and we always stop by when we realize where we are!

I’m really glad we stumbled upon this place back in April. We had just finished packing up our campsite and on the lookout for breakfast. We ordered the chicken biscuit and gravy with an egg and bacon along with huckleberry mimosas. It really hit the spot!
Their staff was so kind and more than willing to share about the cafe’s history and just all around great conversation. We’re looking forward to going back next time we’re in the area.

This is a hidden gem! Had my first huckleberry margarita which was outstanding with my garden burger topped with mushrooms and Swiss cheese! One talented lady did it all by herself, she was the bartender and cook! Really great cook! I was impressed and she was super sweet too!

My wife and I ate here last year and were excited to try it again last time it was so good and an older gentleman was the only one working the restaurant. Today it was two younger guys. They really didn’t want to make food and it was about 40 minutes before close. Instead of making sure the food came out good. They were cleaning well the paddies were on the griddle, they came out like dry rubber. The guy at one point lost track of which was the elk and which was the beef. He brought it up to his face and smelled it and had to take a piece out of it to see if it was cooked. The onions were cut barley cut. There was a 1/3 of an entire onion on my burger and my wife’s. I’m sad to say I will never eat here again. 43 dollars is a lot of money to spend on stuff I had to choke down. He couldn’t bother to make the normal potato fries either I’m pretty sure he used a deep frier to cook frozen fries. It’s frustrating because I don’t like wasting food and since we got there later and went to the lake to eat we weren’t able to go back and tell them nor do I think they would care. Plus I paid cash and they didn’t give me a reciept…. I added a picture of all the onion. My wife’s looks way worse and you can see the onion core to the left side and the second picture you can see that the burger is so cooked the paddy just cracked

Great food. Stopped here after summiting Mt Adams. It was a little slow, but it was Labor Day. We had to remind them to bring us the menus. Bathrooms were a little gross and they’re very stingy about who’s allowed to use it. The sign says you have to show the receipt you ate there that day to use it. The people were nice enough. I had the Blue Cheese Burger and it was very yummy. As you see in the pic, they did not skimp on the Bleu cheese. Fries were Delicious and the huckleberry lemonade and shake were awesome as well. Overall great place to stop after hiking.

Stopped by there for a huckleberry shake. It was smaller than anticipated for $10, but Im sure the berries are expensive. The service was fantastic. The issue I had was the lack of cleanliness. All of the window seals hadn’t been cleaned for a long while. Several dead flies and dirt above all of the tables on the window seals. The long table outside the front where people could eat hadn’t been cleaned for some time. 5 min of daily wiping could help leaps and bounds. The paper plate and plastic fork my salad was served on was quite displeasing as well.

The friendliest staff ever and the most delicious burgers!
My husband and I stopped here after climbing Mt. Adams and we called ahead for a pickup order. It was close to their closing time but they were incredibly kind, saying it was no problem to have our order ready for us a few minutes after they close.
Husband got a double bacon cheeseburger and I got a double Mt. Adams burger. Fresh and hot off the grill, these massive burgers were SO GOOD! They gave us life after a hard climb!
I wish I had taken photos of the food but we demolished them before I could snap a pic.
The onion rings and fries were amazing too.
Would give more stars if I could! Highly recommend!

We stopped in on a Tuesday in August. I wanted a huckle berry milk shake. They where not very busy. They had pre made the shake. I am not sure if it was kept in a refrigerator or not but it was mostly melted. It was a 12 or 16 oz and cost over 10.00. At that price they should at least be made to order. Especially on a weekday!

Can confirm that the older woman who works here is extremely rude. I was insulted by her for no reason and then she repeatedly made it known that she didn’t like me sitting inside (as a single hiker), even though by the end of my meal the two other tables inside were unoccupied!
The food was also paltry for the price.
It’s a shame that the Mexican restaurant that used to be in town closed down, because Mexican restaurants usually aren’t skimpy with portions, and much less insult you as a customer.

Unexpectedly a little disappointed. I was having such a wonderful day in the mountains that it didn’t even bother me much. I absolutely love the town of trout lake but this restaurant needs to get it together. I hope they can because it has so much more potential. Tuesday late afternoon 4 other customers out on tables and our group of 3. Not a busy night by any means. The back area around the building needs to have a major clean up. Watched the employee make a milkshake and saw him scoop far too much into metal cup for the spindle mixer then with the left overs after putting in paper cup starts slurping down the excess and giving me a weird look while doing it. Casher lady seemed new because she was having trouble with my meal order. I told her if she can’t figure it out I’ll just have a normal bacon cheese burger because the only difference from the one I was ordering was that it had bistro sauce add. I asked for ranch for my frys. The price was outrageous for our three meals. I said something and she gave a straight faced look like she couldn’t hear or something. Hidden added fee or something because something wasn’t adding up right. I didn’t want to make a bigger deal about it. Still on cloud 9 from having a wonderful day in the mountains. Was not asked if I wanted water after the other people in my group got specialty drinks and I didn’t order one. Food came to our table and I had the wrong cheese on my burger and not a trace of this special bistro sauce and no ranch dressing for my frys I ask the server for ranch he said ok I’ll get it. He never came back. The meat quality in these pattys is cheap and tast like it has a filler added to the beef or something. Bacon was good! Fries were good! One of the people in my group cleaned up one of the other tables out side and walked the plates to there kitchen and was being very sweet. Highlight the creek in the back is peaceful sounding. The other people in my group loved there meals. The french dip looked delicious.
