I was looking for a special place to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary. My husband loves an experience and when I found the state room, I knew it would be perfect! It did not disappoint!!!!! We tried 5 handcrafted cocktails and loved 4/5 of them. The one was not in our taste realm and our waitress made no fuss of it and brought us a different one we wanted instead. The appetizers had crazy good flavor and the oysters were DELICIOUS! My husband loved his steak and my homemade pasta was perfection! The vibe of the state room was fantastic and I liked how few people it holds, it made it more intimate. The house made basch cheesecake was incredible and so fresh. Our server was a doll and we hope to get her next time we come. This was truly the experience I wished to give my husband on our special day and everyone knocked it out of the park for us, so thank you so much to all! We will see you soon!

The chicken had a perfectly crisp texture while still feeling light and enjoyable. Every bite was impressive and left me excited to return and explore more creations from the chef. I really like that the menu evolves with the seasons, which keeps things interesting. The place can feel lively and energetic at times, but the quality of the food makes the experience truly worth it.

Amazing experience. We arrived early so we could have a drink first. Drinks were excellent! Bartenders were clearly experienced. The great times continued at our table. Food was delicious (I had the pork chop and recommend it highly). The menu had a variety of choices so almost any taste could be happy. The service was truly exceptional. The room itself was really comfortable. Just a great restaurant. It felt so exclusive. I cannot wait to return.

My partner and I had such an amazing experience at this restaurant (we went on Valentine’s Day)! From the moment we walked in, everything was welcoming and well organized. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely incredible; every dish we ordered exceeded our expectations.
What truly made the night special was our waitress, Eileen. She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. She checked on us at just the right times, made excellent recommendations, and had such a positive, upbeat attitude.
Between the delicious food and Eileen’s outstanding service, this was easily a 5-star experience. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

My wife and I came here for our anniversary, and it did not disappoint. What a wonderful place with sort of a speakeasy vibe in the heart of the village! I’ve been looking forward to coming here and boy am I glad we did. The menu, venue and staff are all top notch, 5 stars!
From the first sip of my wine to the last spoon full of dessert, everything was absolutely perfect! The food is beautifully plated with taste to match. I wish I could have ordered one of everything they had.

I just had my baby shower at The State Room and I have nothing but great things to say! The food was delicious, the staff was SO attentive with helping us set up, breakdown, helping guests bring in their gifts and always checking up on us if anyone needed anything. The space is beautiful and everyone loved it! 5 stars all around!

My experience at The Stateroom was extraordinary. My partner and I went to celebrate our anniversary dinner and every moment and detail from beginning to end was phenomenal.
The food is inventive, beautifully presented, and most importantly incredibly delicious! Service was 5+ stars. Attentive but not intrusive, very friendly, and knowledgeable. It’s difficult to choose a favorite because everything was so good, but I think the top two for us were the beef tartare and linguini.
If you’re looking for an environment that is cozy, tasteful and romantic, this is the spot. We will definitely be coming back again soon. Thanks so much to everyone at The Stateroom for such a memorable night!

My second time reviewing this place cause this time I had my 25th birthday here with friends and family . I was absolutely obsessed ! Everything about that night was perfect . Julian the event director helped me set up and plan everything before she was so sweet and provided me with all the info and made adjustments to make sure my night was spectacular. Francis the bartender hands down took care of me and my guests all the drinks were perfect and the attention to detail was top tier . The service provided from every server was impeccable. I really can’t thank every single person in the stateroom / Shands enough. Highly recommend ❤️. Thankyou for making my birthday so special and memorable.

Big sad face for The State Room. My boyfriend is a restaurant manager so he doesn’t get many Saturdays off. His first Saturday off (11/8) in a year and we just had to take the opportunity to come to The Stateroom but man, are we disappointed. To start, the person who greeted us was in a white t shirt and jeans which felt off for a uniform for this kind of place. The greeter is the first and last person you see and forms an impression. We had a reservation for a table but decided to stay at the bar which is maybe where we went wrong here? (We prefer to eat at the bar often) the bartenders were super cool nice guys but very inattentive and it was only an 8 person bar so it’s not like they were overly busy tending to other guests. We waited for drinks, we waited for plates to be cleared, we waited for them to take our order then waited some more for them to continue to take meal orders past appetizers, but that never happened. At that point, we left and didn’t order dinner because we were turned off. The bartender was cleaning glasses with a cloth this entire time instead of attending to us. Hospitality and service are so important, it can turn a 3 star review into a 5 star review easily. The food was average, we got the cheeseboard, though they didn’t say what the cheeses were which is usually standard, and the truffle tortellini. Every specialty cocktail we ordered was overall flat and we ordered 4 of them. They just seemed to be missing something. None of them wowed us and we are cocktail people. They just fell short. There were many unique flavors and ingredients in the drinks but they did not taste balanced. This place is too small for awkward standing room behind bar seats. We were at the end of the bar and 3 20 year olds were standing next to us, one wanted a Guinness but settled for a Narraganset, they got a burger and had the MMA fight playing on their phone propped up on the bar. I felt this was a faux pa on the staffs part, there’s so many places on the Patchogue strip to get a beer and a burger and watch the MMA fight than to be at a supposed sophisticated place like The Stateroom standing over 2 guests, crowding them at a bar that’s already very small to begin with. I get this is a sticky situation but there really wasn’t any room for them and it was off putting to us. When they walked in the hostess should have asked them if they wanted a table or go to the bar and if they were to say bar, she should have checked if there was availability. And if there was no hostess to man the host stand and they walked right in, then that’s another faux pa on a Saturday night. Overall I hope they work out these kinks, the food and drinks I can forgive but the hospitality and service are tough to look past.
