Solid pizza spot with classic rock vibes.
I met Jackson (sous-chef) randomly at Kroger. He has a pizza slice tattoo, so I knew he was in the game. The pie did not disappoint. I went with the Margarita, a side of tomato basil soup, and a Dr. Pepper (because, Texas).
Good undercarriage. Zero flop. The crust had the right amount of crunch for a Marg, as well as a generous amount of mozzarella. The basil seemed small, at first, but the flavor was present. And the pizza came out quick.
The soup was not what I was expecting, in a good way. It was a touch spicy, which probably pairs well with the grilled cheese or salad they have on the menu.
Overall, I approve. Hailing from Chicago, I have been looking for a go-to pizza joint. Even though I do not drink alcohol, I can appreciate this restaurant. Jackson just redid the menu, so those familiar with “The Tavern” should come back around. Hopefully, I can catch a show next time and hang out on the patio.
If you are in Denton, or the greater DFW metroplex, check this place out. You won’t be disappointed, either.

Took the family for lunch on Saturday, the place was empty. Ordered some appetizers and waiter came by 20 mins after ordering to let us know that appetizer wasn’t available. Water and sodas have bad taste, likely the water supply and/or ice. Had a draft beer which was cold and no off flavor. Server/bar attendant was very friendly and attentive. Ordered meals and took about 25 mins to come out. After all the meals except 1 came out the server then notified us that one of the kids meals wasn’t available. Everyone had finished eating by the time the second kids meal came out. Server was very apologetic due to a new cook and didn’t charge us for the kids meal. After leaving the burger just wouldn’t settle and ended up puking it up at the house. Overall if you’re going here to drink likely a good spot to hang out but food service is severely lacking.

Came here for lunch with my husband. We tried ordering burnt ends for appetizer, but they didn’t have them. So we ordered onion rings and drinks. Water and soda tastes weird. Waited a while and ordered our lunch while watching a football game. When my husband ordered their bologna sandwich, which was the only reason we chose to come here today, they were out of that as well. It appears the owner is busy putting money into opening new venues, while neglecting current ones. Front door here is broken, bathroom has a sign about plumbing, paint job in bathroom is very poorly done. I’ve worked in the restaurant business for owners that keep moving on to the next opening while leaving every current location barely equipped. This will eventually be the reality of all the locations.

Nice atmosphere, food was good, we visited at Lunchtime on a Saturday. we had grilled cheese with soup, pizza and a Chilli cheesesteak. All was good! Our waitress was really friendly and said they have live music in the evenings, comedy night, karaoke, trivia etc.

For a bar, the food is awesome. They take simple bar food but elevate it to make it delicious. Pizza is amazing, as are the wings. I personally love the southwest turkey wrap and their homemade chips are awesome. Staff is chill but friendly! We’ve been about 4-5 times now on diff days and times and have had consistently good experiences with both food quality and service.

Nice cozy bar. They removed the stage for bands and now have a billiard table there, moving in the direction of a Sports bar. The service was really good and friendly.
