The Stables easily wins the Kentucky Derby of Missoula restaurants!
Excellent service without being pretentious. Our server Alex was a pro, attentive, informative and friendly. Anthony is a top-notch bartender…all his pours were perfect!
Our lamb chops and salmon were five-star! Not ashamed to admit picking up the chops and gnawing them to the bone, even in this Montana-swanky space…just that good.
Photos look like we only drank, but the food couldn’t wait for pix!
Highly recommend! Make reservations!

When I say I had the best steak quite possibly ever at this restaurant, I mean it! Wowza. It was absolutely incredible Cooked to medium rare perfection. Caramelized crust on the outside and each bite was filled with delicious juicy flavor. I kept expecting it to lose the juice but to my surprise, every single bite down to the last one was packed with the same outstanding flavor. I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Missoula!
It also came with a side that was made of potatoes that was also very good and some shaved asparagus that had a unique taste. The entire plate complimented each item well.
Paired with a Manhattan to drink and I truly feasted like a king.
I came to this restaurant because it was rated the highest on Google and it did not disappoint.
I forgot the name of my bartender but he was also outstanding. 10/10 would recommend this establishment

Walked in without a reservation with husband, but was able to get seated by our wonderful host and waiter, Alex! If you’re reading this Alex, just wanted to say we love you very much! You were so amazing and kind to us! The Stables is very lucky to have you! Thank you for giving us the crème brûlée also!
My husband and I are on our honeymoon and this our first time in Montana! The Stables is one of his top favorite experience so far in this beautiful state! He was so impressed with the food! The chefs who made the salmon especially, thank you!!! He can’t stop raving about it! Actually, pretty much the whole course he couldn’t stop raving! He was also losing it with the clam sauce, trying to figure out how to make it. I LOVE the hamachi crudo. The spicy sauce and the hamachi on top of the cucumber was so delicious.
Will be coming back to eat here when we’re in Montana again! Thank you for making our honeymoon so great!!

It was what they said. We had the lamb, The beef bourgoignon and the Salmon. It was all exquisite. . We also had the parisian gnocchi as a starter. The service was very good. Small Quite restaurant.

My husband and I have been so disappointed in the new restaurants in Missoula. We have been desperately searching for a new food home. We have found it ! The Stables has by far the most creative and succulent food in town. With large portion sizes you will get your moneys worth and leave more than satisfied. The service was excellent as well. We will definitely be back!!

My husband and I stopped in randomly on a Tuesday after hearing about how good the food was from friends and it has easily become our new favorite restaurant. While the food was out of this world, Shae our waitress elevated our entire experience. Her knowledge of wine and her expert pairings with our meals took our dinner to a whole new level. We can’t wait to go back! (I was cringe and took pics of our meals so you don’t have to!!! The whole experience was 10/10!!!)

We had a wonderful dinner at The Stables. Our waiter was kind and attentive. Everyone’s food was delicious. We had the Pâté Duo to start. It included a great selection of stuff to eat. My steak was perfect and so we’re the sides. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice restaurant for dinner.

The atmosphere is wonderful- very comfortable and elegantly laid back. The cocktails were great. We ordered the NY Strip – Medium Rare. Both were solidly Medium Well. They were pepper crusted and very tasty so we ate them anyway.

We had dinner here recently for the first time. The food was just okay. The chicken was very dry and under seasoned. The potatoes were better as were the carrots (could’ve done without the herby green sauce imo, let the carrots shine). Caesar salad didn’t really taste like a caesar salad to me. Cocktails were mostly good and the bartender was definitely hustling to get drinks made. Service was okay, nothing amazing but not bad. Ultimately, for the price point, the experience at this restaurant is really not worth it and we probably won’t return.

Nice spot, great server, but the food wasn’t for me. High price point dishes tasted like regular meals dialed up 3x in flavor. Great for flavor lovers, not so great for foodie snobs like myself. Also, the meat was extremely tough. Might give it another shot later.
