We have been here twice now. Veera is amazing host and server. He was able to make us some good recommendations per our request. Their Veg. jaipuri is one of the best I’ve had in a while. I was a little disappointed with their Tandoori Paneer but other food makes up for that. Awesome experience both times. 4/5 ⭐️

I ordered the hariayani tikka for an appetizer. Not too spicy, yummy cilantro and green mirchi ️ chutney smeared all over paneer barbeque. The malai kofta was quite good indeed. The fenugreek in this filling dish tasted fresh. At some Indian restaurants you can’t distinguish between various masalas but not so here.
Some years ago I have had complaints about timely service. Those days are behind for Spice Garden. I will be coming back.

We opted for dinner from The Spice Garden for our Christmas meal. This is the second time we have enjoyed the food here. Delicious vegetarian dishes with lots of flavor. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared. We particularly enjoy the chili garlic naan. Their daal dishes as flavorful as was their paneer dish. We’ve said we no longer need to cook Indian food at home. Next time I’ll try one of their Indo-Chinese dishes. Thank you for this wonderful option for international cuisine.

Before mentioning the food, I have to mention I am writing as a vegan in a restaurant that is vegetarian, meaning they serve food with dairy ingredients that I do not eat. Because of this, what stood out first kind, informative, and knowledgeable of ingredients the gentleman in charge is. During the buffet, I got the sense that he actually very much cared to make sure I didn’t accidentally eat anything that isn’t vegan. Instead, he made sure I ate well with a few things from the kitchen.

The food itself was delicious. I over ate a bit. And will return for the Sunday buffet often, as well as for regular dinner.

Wonderful food and excellent customer service.

Absolutely terrible experience at Spice Garden. We sat for 45 minutes without even being brought water or menus, despite there being only two other parties in the entire restaurant. After finally getting someone’s attention, we ordered a drink that never came and had to remind them twice for the drink after waiting a long period of time.
When we ordered appetizers, they never put them in and then tried to tell us we hadn’t ordered them. We also had to ask multiple times for them to even put our main entree food order in after waiting nearly an hour.
The food itself was sub-par and tasted stale, definitely not worth the wait. The atmosphere was just as bad — no music at all, completely silent except for forks and spoons scraping plates. The atmosphere in the restaurant was depressing.
Overall, horrible service, mediocre food, and an awkward, uncomfortable environment. If I could give it zero stars I would. Would not recommend.

Absolutely loved the food at The Spice Garden! It truly felt like a home-cooked meal — warm, comforting, and full of authentic flavors. Every dish tasted fresh and had that perfect homely touch that’s often hard to find in restaurants. If you’re looking for real Indian vegetarian food that feels just like it’s made at home, this is the place to be! Highly recommended.

This was our first Indian dinner…. I am very pleased to say it was a delight to experience this at such an amazing restaurant!!! We were grateful for our beautiful waitress to assisted us with ordering and promptly delivered food not all at once but as we were finished with one dish she provided us with the next then much to our surprise We got to enjoy a delightful dessert on the house because it was our first time experiencing this culture’s food. Hands down food is amazing atmosphere is small and intimate and service was impeccable!!!! We truly enjoyed our experience and will be back!!

I went to The Spice Garden for the first time yesterday and honestly… 10/10.

It’s a little tucked off Albemarle in the strip of randomness — you could easily pass by and not even notice it — but don’t let that fool you. The food was SO good.

I ordered the aloo paratha (flat bread with potatoes between) paneer butter masala (firm diced pieces of cheese similar to tofu in a creamy tomato based butter sauce) with white rice on the side, samosas (fried chickpea & potato inside a large triangular patty, falooda with vanilla ice cream (I can’t really explain but it’s a creamy vanilla and rose flavor desert), halwa (warm carrot kind of custardy, cakey hybrid texture topped with a sprinkle of slivered nuts) and a masala soda (sprite with rich and sweet spices).

Everything came out hot and fresh, like it was made to order. Nothing tasted rushed or thrown together. Even the falooda (which was my absolute favorite) was layered beautifully and the ice cream didn’t look sloppy or melted down. I literally could not stop eating it. The masala soda was also really good and refreshing.

The paneer butter masala is basically like butter chicken sauce but with paneer instead — creamy, flavorful, and comforting. The samosas were exactly what I hoped they’d be — hot and fresh. I usually go for shrimp biryani at Indian spots, but since this one is vegetarian, I decided to try different things and I’m so glad I did.

Now, I will say the food took a little longer than expected. I ordered around 1:40, it was supposed to be ready by 2:08, and I ended up getting it closer to 2:25. But everything was clearly cooked fresh, and the staff was very nice and welcoming the entire time.

They were smiling, polite, and the place looked super clean. It even smelled clean. Floors were clean, tables were clean — overall very well kept. It seems like they may be newer, and possibly still working out timing, but the quality of the food made up for it.

The space itself is big and open. I do wish the atmosphere felt a little warmer and the seating a bit more cozy, but it’s very clean and inviting. I’d actually love to come back and dine in next time and just try a little bit of everything off the menu. I’ll just plan to give myself more time since the food seems to be made fresh.

Overall, I would definitely return — especially since it’s closer than other spots and not a chain. If you’re in the area, it’s worth stopping in.

The food is generally ok. This much deserved one-star review is due to Spice Garden’s laughably poor service. There has been an issue and a significant time waste every single time I have placed an order. Today, I placed a $100 order for lunch. I arrived to pick up the order only to find Spice Garden had given my order to an Uber Eats driver. Spice Garden caused me a 40-minute wait and attempted to act like victims. No hospitality, no offer for a discount/meal, just complaints over a $100 loss—due to THEIR NEGLIGENCE. After my complaint, they tossed in a free drink. Ridiculous. This is my final order from Spice Garden. I simply will no longer support Spice Garden’s sort of get-over culture that assumes zero responsibility, and is near-totally careless about the time and experience of their paying customers.
