My boyfriend and I came here for a Saturday evening dinner and really enjoyed it overall. Service wasn’t bad but not very personable. Direct and to the point and we weren’t asked about drinks which I found strange but we just told him what we wanted after ordering food. It’s a pretty small area but there were only 2 other groups so it didn’t feel crowded though I imagine it would if they were full. We eat Indian food often but this day we tried new dishes. For an appetizer we ordered Paneer Pakora, it was deep fried and reminded me of a mozzarella stick but with breading and no cheese pull. The sauces that came with it were delicious, I especially enjoyed the mint one. My boyfriend ordered Lamb Curry at spice level hot. It was very spicy with great rich flavor, the neutral flavored rice helped to not be overwhelming. The garlic naan was a great pairing. I ordered Lamb Kadahi at spice level hot and again it was spicy but it also had a great tangy flavor with some peppers and onions that added some sweetness. Overall it was a nice dinner and we will definitely go back.

This place is AMAZING! We tried it yesterday for our first time and it did not disappoint. The service was great, gentleman were very kind and welcoming. We did not have to wait long for our food and it was hot and fresh when we received it. You could literally soak in the authentic flavors of every dish! I would definitely recommend.
P.s. Chai lovers , they have the BEST Chai Tea

We ordered the palak paneer, dal tadka, malai kofta and 100% whole wheat rotis. Everything was excellent, felt like I was eating home cooked food. Oil and spices were just right. I ordered the dal soup too, as I prefer watery dal – it was 10/10 as well! The host is kind and warm.

Key highlight: they served us warm water at the start, without prompting

So. What a nice surprise. We thought we were coming to a kabob house type place, but they’ve made this former Taco Johns lunch spot into a lovely restaurant and they’re adding on.

The food was excellent. The menu is terrific. I can’t say enough.

We would revisit to decide if that 4 should really be a 5. The waiter awkwardly told us to skip that when we were looking at the biryani section of the menu (which we did). The mild mango curry and chicken tikki masala were both flavorful. (Could have probably gone up to a medium). The medium tandoori chicken was very tasty and showy when it came out. Although one of the four pieces had very little edible chicken on it. A hearty bowl of rice was served for the table. We especially enjoyed the garlic naan.

Amazing Indian food! We had the butter shrimp, chicken saffron, Naan bread (garlic and cheese). Traditional family style. The taste was on point. Not overly seasoned. Very nice people. The venue is small, but I think in time and the business they are getting, they should move to a bigger spot. The table also had a white sheet on top to color. So my daughter was very pleased with that and we helped draw also. Overall great place. Good food. Friendly people. Please come try

I recently visited this Indian restaurant and honestly, it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by warm aromas of spices and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. The food was the real highlight. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced, not too mild, not overwhelmingly hot. The garlic naan came out fresh, soft, and slightly crispy on the edges. We also tried the chicken tikka masala and biryani, and both were packed with flavor and tasted authentic. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices felt fair for the quality and amount of food served. Whether you’re new to Indian cuisine or already love it, this place is definitely worth trying. I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! This restaurant is so nice and intimate. Good place for a first date. The food was amazing! Just from eating the food I would assume the cook really enjoys cooking, I finished every bit that I could fit in my stomach. I don’t think I’ve had a dining experience better here in Yakima. Thank you to the family that runs this restaurant! I will be back!!

Wow, wow, wow!!! I traveled for work to India many times. The food at The Spice is authentic and amazingly flavorful. My husband and I truly enjoyed Chicken 65, Tandoori Chicken, Butter Lamb and Garlic Naan!

The most special part was we met a local enthusiast of the restaurant named William. Thank you William for a most wonderful meal. We are forever grateful for your kind deed. You make Yakima a very special place in our hearts.

The worst indian food i have ever had in my life. The chole was very sweet in taste and the bhature was very hard to even bite. The palak paneer tasted like a plain curry without any spices. The naan’s were very soggy including garlic naan. The paneer naan was just a naam without paneer. In the end we had to trash all the stuff it was so tasteless we just wasted our money( more than 90$). I am never gonna order something from there. It is a shame on indian food and indian culture. If anyone is reading my comment i request everyone to not order and waste their money here. I hope we could get our refund but we are very very disappointed.!
