The Special Cup is a must-see if you love flavored lattes. A lot of places you’ll be lucky if they do anything more than add too much or too little syrup for whatever the seasonal flavor is.
The Special Cup had exhaustive list of options, including creative recommendations from staff like banana toffee nut with marshmallow cold foam.
My friend got the Americano (good) and huevos rancheros (also good).
I got the apple cider donut latte. Apple cinnamon and cookie butter sounds like it would be overwhelmingly sweet but the coffee was strong without being too bitter and the flavors were well balanced with it
My cranberry orange scone was pleasantly flavored with a good amount of cranberries. It might benefit from being warmed up but I’ll take a slightly dry scone over one that tastes like a flavorless day-old biscuit, and I’ve had too many like that.
The star of the show was the “killer tofu” sandwich. The perfect amount of tofu, roasted red peppers, spinach, tomato, and pesto on a seeded multigrain bread that didn’t get too soggy (thanks to the great texture) and wasn’t dry or bland.
I had intended on saving it for lunch but I decided to try it while it was warm and devoured it.
And one of my favorite elements: a lot of charm. The charm and character of the building’s original construction in the early 1900s is still evident, albeit with some modern updates. There’s a lot of warm lighting with hanging lights and faux old-fashioned lightbulbs, to say nothing of the beautiful painting and decor by local artists.
I wish I lived closer, there’s so many things on the menu I want to try
The team was kind and helpful, which made the experience enjoyable.
The avocado toast was decent—could be a little less salty, but the slight heat was a nice touch and understandable for the style.
The house coffee was smooth and flavorful.
Overall, a lively and bustling spot on a Saturday morning—perfect if you enjoy an energetic vibe!
First off, the staff here is fantastic. They’re so friendly and welcoming and just genuinely nice folks. They’re attentive, eager to suggest some options, and really care.
The decor is cozy and classic, full of brick, wood, and green accents that make it easy to sink in here. There’s art from local artisans that’s available to purchase which is a great way to support the community and add a nice extra offering.
It was a hot day so I went for an iced green tea which was perfectly brewed. There’s an extensive menu and everything sounded amazing. I went for a T-bird breakfast burrito/wrap which was done really well with super fresh ingredients.
Absolutely coming back here to spend some more time and try out some more of their options.
The staff is also really friendly. They’re happy to answer questions and offer suggestions.
Good people who run good businesses and treat customers right deserve recognition and praise. I’m happy to give it to them.
I had first ordered a small hot S’more latte, and it was absolutely delicious. Even had little marshmallows! I had enjoyed it so much that I had finished it before I left, and ordered another drink. The next I had ordered was a large hot Toasted Almond Mocha latte, and this one had a rich nutty taste to it, very enjoyable.
For my meal, I had ordered a Tater Totter to go. I didn’t have the time to enjoy at location, but after walking around in the brisk air for 25~ minutes, the presentation was still great and an enjoyable temperature. Its quite flavorful and the dish hits the spot if you enjoy a savory meal, having that option at a cafe is a rarity.
Finally, the atmosphere inside is peaceful. During my wait I observed kindhearted and attentive staff, and the environment itself is homey and welcoming. Polaroids on the walls, plants, soft lighting, and there’s seating available for both solo and group diners. I’d love to visit again and sample more of their drink flavors!
