Social Profile:

The Space Pad exists on the top deck of a tall tower above the surface of the alien planet Rillispore, a technologically advanced 1950’s Atomic Era styled spaceport. The Rillisporians made contact with Earth starting in the late 1940s and 50s in their flying saucers and found a beautiful planet with beautiful people and beautiful architecture. They were so impressed they decided to take the mid-century vibe of the 1950s on Earth back to their planet and incorporated it into their culture and advanced technology. The Space Pad is the Rillisporians favorite cocktail lounge located on their home planet and now decades later they’ve invited us to visit and share with us what they’ve been up to!

This AMAZING Oceanside gem is located in the back of Kilowatt bar. I recommend a reservation but they were able to accommodate 3 of us at the bar with ease. The drinks were fire! Great atmosphere and fun ambiance.

Atmosphere is amazing, drinks are really good. It is small and intimate. We reserved ahead of time. Loved the speakeasy vibe.

I love this place! Feels like you just walked off Space Mountain and into the ideal space age cocktail lounge Complete with unexpected entertainment and cool lighting effects. Order the Blast Off for an extra good time I didn’t want to leave and I will definitely be back!

If you like this, definitely try Kilowatt’s other speakeasy: Forbidden Cove in San Diego. That’s how we heard about this place. Keep those speakeasy’s coming, Kilowatt!!!

Man Oh Man did I want to give this place five stars but I just couldn’t. I love cocktail bars and speak easys. I’ve worked in Cocktail bars in NYC for years. Maybe my expectations are just high. Made a reservation for this place for myself on a Saturday early evening at 6pm. Killed about an hour in the brewery up front which was just OK. The music in Kilowatt was pounding loud. Went back to the Space Pad which has a cool lit up entry way. The server who was there and greeted me was probably the best part of my whole time at the bar, a blonde woman who I think has tattoos, I never got her name. She was friendly and attentive and brought me to my spot at the bar. The space is very small and intimate, probably seats somewhere around 20 people. But they’re all very close together. The bar is super small, the back bar was messy, unorganized. The space itself is a interior design MARVEL. Little spaceships on pulleys, a moon rock wall, amazing lighting, 50s style booths. It’s awesome. Go in there just to take a few photos. Not only did the server seat me, but she was the one who came behind the bar to check on me AND take my order. Bartenders barely said a word to me. There where two of them mind you running a bar that seats maybe 5-6 people. Like literally four feet away from me. Usually on cocktail lists you place your most popular cocktails on the top. So I ordered the top one, The Ambassador Scones. A crazy Space out infusion Cocktail with a pop rocks rim. Looks cool in the glass. Did not taste cool at all. Couldn’t finish the drink which is rare for me. Honestly was planning on staying and trying a few but just felt really out of place in this tiny space where no one seemed to care about me. Bars no matter how cool they LOOK are about drink quality and bartender personality. It was lacking in both. I gave this place 4 stars because of the idea and design quality, and the waitress who was very kind and attentive.

Lovely lil bar! Definitely a hidden gem and in such an unassuming place. The interior design was eye-catching, service was wonderful, and drinks were delicious! I had a Carajillo Puesto and it was so good, highly recommend if you like coffee flavors and sweeter drinks!

Very cool spot! Definitely make a reservation because it’s very small. There’s lots of fun tiki cocktails on the menu, try a jungle bird or royal hawaiian. The atmosphere is fun, I especially liked when they payed the Jetsons theme.

Very cool place to go to. Make sure to make your Reservation because it is not a big place. My favorite drink was the beak me up. You may get a brain freeze and it is worth it.

Bartender was wonderful during our visit. The drinks were amazing as well! I love the atmosphere of this speakeasy.

We got the beam me up (pineapple with the light) & cosmic coil. Both drinks were super good.

Def will visit again in the future during the next visit in this area.

I am not a big bar hopper fan but I love this place. The space pad was smaller than I anticipated. It was such a cool little joint. Make sure to have a reservation.

The bartenders are very knowledgeable and super friendly and engaging! The atmosphere is lively, they have fun light displays that go with certain songs and it makes for a unique dazzling experience. Drinks came in with cool Tiki-style glasses. The whole experience feels very intimate. For those Space and Galaxy fanatics, you will enjoy the atmosphere. I’m not a space fanatic but I got very excited when the light show started with the funky music. Everyone else was happy.

Munchie’s menu is mostly fish except for the hot dog, the food is not as expensive as the other reviewers stated. Hopefully, they can add more items to the food menu.

The drinks were a little pricey but if you are here for the experience, then it is the premium you are willing to pay for it. Right? Wink wink

FYI, The “Beam me Up” drink was a lot of fun! We didn’t order it but the next table ordered it.

Five stars for service, atmosphere, and drink.

This is a cool spot with a unique atmosphere. My biggest complaint is how much they oversold the experience. It is very small with drinks that are much more expensive than advertised online. We ordered specialty cocktails that were good. I would recommend just hanging out in the brewery up front.
