I was pleased to find this restaurant in a remote area of Tennessee. It is a very welcoming and cozy spot to enjoy some southern comfort foods. The service was top notch. I had a great waitress, although I cannot remember her name I ordered the chili dogs and a side of onion rings. Beans do not belong in chili to be garnished on the hotdogs. Any good chili dog does not have beans on it. Aside from that, they were all beef hotdogs, and we priced a very good value. The onion rings were a typical beer batter, fried to a crispy golden brown. The tables and interior of the restaurant where kept nice and clean. I enjoyed the front porch with a couple of rocking chairs.

First time there. Small and cozy with a Western vibe. I ordered the John Wayne Burger and 6 wings(Nashville Hot) with Ranch dip. While not listed on the menu I also ordered a slice of chocolate cake. Service was great and they refill your coffee. The food was good, especially the wings but I may switch to Buffalo sauce when I return. I recommend them for a nice family lunch. EDIT: I have become a regular here. Omelets are awesome. Buffalo wings are fantastic.

What can’t I say about the southern oven! This place is as pure as southern culture gets. We come here annually after our family backpacking trip and are always welcomed with hot food and quick service. This place rocks. No yankee city slickers allowed though!

Great food and service. The food was hot, made to order and hash browns tasted homemade. I don’t normally like hash browns but I ate them all, very tasty. The biscuits were soft but crispy on the bottom, perfect! The gravy had nice flavor. Really enjoyed our breakfast. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

I’ve been to this place a few times. Their food is horrible! They order everything pre-made, including their salads. They are too lazy to actually prepare the food themselves. No passion whatsoever. Avoid the Southern Dumpster at all costs

In the area for a wedding and looking for local places to grub. Found The Southern Oven and this is the spot for great food. The people and staff were super friendly. The food was on point. Best biscuits and gravy I’ve had in a long while. Plenty to choose from in the breakfast and lunch menus. The atmosphere was just what you’d want from a country kitchen.
