Wow! What a find. Wife saw it and wanted to go so we did for our anniversary. I had the Croque Madame and she the Strata. The size is deceiving. The tables clear quickly and there’s more room in the back and on the patio during decent weather. Ample food deliciously prepared. Fun atmosphere and really friendly staff. We’ll go again.

Rustic, casual, and charming coffee shop and food cafe in the outskirts of Hillsboro. My favorite in town! The coffee, the selection of sweet treats, the brunch options, the lunch menu, the friendly staff; everything about this place is unique. Bring your friends/family along for a meal or go by yourself for some coffee/food and reading- the casual style supports both. I would recommend it to anyone!
P.S. Parking can be tight; there’s additional parking at the back of the building and on the farm across the road.

The food at The South Store Cafe is amazingly delicious. Lots of freshly baked, sweet treats and savory treats. Very pleased with the quality of the ingredients in the food.
I’ll admit it took me about 20 years to finally stop by because I’ve driven past this place about 50,000 times I think. But I’m glad I finally stopped in.
I had their Friday special (sandwich). It was a beef sandwich and it was so scrumptious and not dry- I highly recommend it. And I have to go back to try the strata, which is only available on the weekends.
If you’re in the area, you should definitely swing by and check out the little cluster of businesses at that intersection. It’s a really good time.
There’s lots of patio seating, as well as plenty of tables on the inside.
I highly recommend you visit.
Be prepared to be extra mindful when stopping to park because it is a pretty busy intersection and the location is right at the intersection.

Stopped in and had a really poor experience. I ordered a bacon cheese croissant (menu says it comes with crispy bacon) and a coffee to go. Two things were wrong right away: the coffee came in a mug instead of to-go, and when the croissant came out the bacon was completely floppy and undercooked.
When I mentioned it, I was met with attitude. An older woman with gray hair came out and instead of apologizing or offering a solution in a professional way, she made a snide comment about how next time I should ask for crispy bacon so they can get it right the first time. The menu already says “crispy bacon,” so that excuse doesn’t make sense.
I asked for a refund instead of waiting around for them to remake it, but I never received a receipt and now I’m not even sure if the refund was processed, I still see the charge on my credit card.
It’s a shame because the place itself looks nice and has a good pastry selection, but the way this was handled left a really bad taste.

Cute place, tight parking, packed on a Friday morning. I had the bacon sandwich (bacon, eggs, cheese). Large sandwich finished on a panini press. It was easily the size of two with McMuffins. Tasted great, but very skimpy on the bacon. It’s called a bacon sandwich, but is really an egg sandwich with 2 thin slices of bacon (see photo). Subtracted one star for that. Everything else was great!

This is the sweetest little getaway you can find when you’d like to go have a wonderful lunch or breakfast. Such a gorgeous old building with charm and beauty to it. The people who work here are so much fun and really enjoy working together. It’s a wonderful environment to come to, and the food is all personally made, including incredible baked goods. Every day, they have fresh quiche that they’ve made there on site. Even the turkey on the sandwiches is real turkey instead of cheap lunch meat like most places. I cannot say enough about their veggie sandwich, which I usually add one slice of turkey to, As well as their incredible homemade soup.
They have a huge glass case of wonderful, wonderfully made desserts with the best ingredients. This place is such an Uplifting environment. Cannot say enough about Riley who does much of the management and is always friendly And helpful.
It’s incredible to go somewhere that people actually know you. It’s worth every mile to drive out here and enjoy this wonderful cafe.

Darling place to enjoy a special meal. Everything was deliciously made, from the vegetable quiche, tomato avocado egg sandwich, custard fruit danish, iced homemade caramel sauce latte, to the artistic coffee.
You will fond ample seating both in the front and in the back of the restaurant as well as outside on the porch. There were beautiful flowers and artwork. I especially enjoyed the animals on the farm mural. Prices were perfect. I’ll be back!
