We checked out the Sounder recently. It’s a rather large restaurant with a big bar in the middle. Sound level medium high. Has the coastal beach vibe, like not fancy but kind of chill. The menu as suprisingly small, so I suggest checking it out online first if you have someone with a limited palate. There are a few apps, few salads, flatbreads and maybe six entree choices, in a one of each mode of meat, fish, pasta, including a burger.
We ordered a baked oysters special to start, which was six very small oysters for $25. The fresh catch was a fairly small piece of fish for $43, the grilled Caesar, which was essentially a head of romaine sliced in half and grilled (added chicken) was $25. The smashburger with fries $25. We were at abouty $180 with two cocktails.
The food was good, but priced too high for the value and serving size for us.

I’ve enjoyed meals at this location for 4 different restaurants over a 30 year period. So far this might be the best. The updates are spot on, with cool colors and the coastal vibe. The interior brick that I’ve always enjoyed has now been painted and looks great. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. Best of all, the food was tasty, fresh and well presented. Look forward to future visits!

I had such a great experience at The Sounder! The space has been completely remodeled, and it shows in the best way. The restaurant feels fresh, bright, and thoughtfully designed while still keeping that relaxed coastal charm. It’s the kind of place you immediately feel comfortable settling into.
The seafood was incredibly fresh and clearly the star of the menu. Everything we tried was flavorful and well prepared, and you could tell a lot of care went into the dishes. It’s so nice to have a spot that really celebrates local seafood.
The staff was welcoming and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Between the beautiful new space, the delicious food, and the friendly service, The Sounder is a wonderful addition to the area. I’m already looking forward to coming back! ️

The Sounder is such a great restaurant and space. The ambience is beautiful. I really enjoyed the classy coastal atmosphere. The service was fabulous. The staff members were polite and efficient. Their recommendations for cocktails were spot on and flavorful. Our food was delicious. We enjoyed the flatbreads as appetizers and the seafood pasta and burger for our entrees. Their beignets were so good! We enjoyed our experience and will be back!

The Pear Salad with grilled salmon is delicious! It the perfect amount of food. I’ve had for lunch and for dinner. Highly recommend.

Not an oyster, clams raw tuna eater. And I don’t eat fried foods normally, that being said they were accommodating and instead of the fried fish special they grilled it. It came out hot but my sides were cold. I never was able to enjoy my dinner w my fiancé BUT they did re do it and at no charge. It seems as if many of their meals had sweet potatoes of some type. My fiancé’s burger looked great as well as his fries. He did enjoy them. The atmosphere was definitely an upgrade from Hops The bar was very pretty and TVs for sports. Not over done.
That being said I’m not in a rush to go back due to the food choices on the menu mainly. They do have several good salad choices. The service was great but it’s a 3 star food choice and 31/2 to 4 on taste.

My first visit to The Sounder was nothing short of excellent from the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was very welcoming . The staff was Friendly and extremely attentive.
Our food was delivered to our table in a timely manner. Our food was fabulous.
It’s rare to leave a first visit already looking forward to the next one, but The Sounder absolutely delivered.
Highly recommend. I’ll definitely be back.
