The Social Speakeasy isn’t another restaurant. It’s Montgomery and Lake Conroe’s reason to dress up again. A hidden room where jazz replaces noise, cocktails are built with purpose, and dinner moves like music. Guests talk about the glow, the hush between songs, the way every pour and plate feels timed to the night. The menu leans refined but familiar. Texas Wagyu, crab toast, martinis with restraint. Service keeps the rhythm steady so you never have to think about it. Date nights, milestones, or just a reason to feel alive again. Find the door, reserve the table, and let the evening play.

Reviews
The food was amazing, and there was even a little space to dance if you wanted to. It wasn’t loud or overwhelming either, so we were actually able to have a real conversation without shouting. And the speakeasy-style entrance with the bookshelf door? Very cool touch. We’ll definitely be back.
I was disappointed with one thing. Our of our 6 top, 2 of us don’t drink alcohol. I called twice prior to confirm some details and was told there would be mocktails. Unfortunately there were not. Instead of feeling like a part of the party with a nice cocktail glass and a special mocktail I ended up requesting a martini glass instead of the pilsner style glass with a straw I was first served. A little bit of festivity would have been nice.
It may sound silly, but if you spend a good amount of money, purchase the attire, and was told there would be options, it was definitely a let down when you feel 2nd class. I asked our waitress twice and was told, “just tell me what you want” I was looking for a bartender “mixologist” to have curated some special drinks for a special occasion.
Pictures are dark, but it will give you an idea of the ambience. Highly recommend the meatballs and the crab cakes!!
The food was delicious & flavorful. We had the feta appetizer with naan bread. It was so creamy & matched the crispy naan bread perfectly. My husband & I both had the sea bass entree. It was fantastic! I wanted to eat it all up, but wanted to take my time to savor it at the same time. The fish was incredibly fresh & delicate with a wonderful crispy top. The curry rice with coconut milk sauce was the perfect addition to the delicate flavor of the fish. Adding the lime broccolini gave it a wonderful crunch & brightness. We tried two desserts – the chocolate mousse & the lavender crème brûlée. Both were delicious. The brûlée was very light with just the right amount of lavender balanced with vanilla. The mousse was smooth & creamy with excellent dark chocolate richness.
My husband had The Compromise & a Manhattan to drink. Both were excellent. The Compromise was extremely unique & very good. I had the Watermelon-Basil martini & the Cucumber martini made with Grey Goose vodka instead of gin. Both were light & refreshing, too. They have a very good selection of liquor & wine with some unique cocktails.
We will definitely be back! Everyone in the area should go visit. You won’t be disappointed.
Disappointments: Even though service was good, the service needs to be more attentive. Twice I had to get my server’s attention while the waitstaff was having have their own social group experience; however, when I told our server we had to be out by a particular time, she made sure we were ready to go and did not delay. I was also somewhat disappointed my first and second choice for dessert was not available. I rarely order dessert, so I found it somewhat ironic the dessert(s) I wanted were not available that night. Parking may be a problem if you have a truck or a large vehicle as the parking lot is very tight and narrow – at least in front of the restaurant. I was also surprised to find the outside seating area was minimal and (sorry, downright ugly) compared to the beauty of the interior.
Overall, I really like The Social Speakeasy. It is truly a unique, one of a kind experience, that I highly recommend and will definitely frequent again.
