The Social List is the absolute top spot to refuel while exploring Retro Row on Long Beach’s 4th Street!
Retro Row is a unique vibe—think the hipsters of Silver Lake meeting the locals of Abbott Kinney in Venice. It’s cool, it’s local, and it’s full of energy.
What We Ordered:
The incredible Beef Brisket Nachos
A crisp Chardonnay
Our first ever (and surprisingly delicious) Matcha Beer
This place is undeniably hip. Pro-tip: The best view and experience are always found at the bar!

Close enough I can walk thank goodness because parking is always hard on or near 4th. But this place is great! The folks working here are always awesome, the food is always good, and the vibes are great! I love that they have fun seasonal options along with their classics.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was so bad that I feel like people should be warned.

From the moment we walked in, the service was terrible. The girl at the front was visibly rude, giving us angry looks, and when our server came over, he spoke so fast it was impossible to understand what he was saying. We thought we ordered clearly, but what came out was completely different—my son got just two chicken tenders, my mom got a mac and cheese, and the “best burger in Long Beach” (as advertised on the menu) turned out to be one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. It tasted like a frozen patty, was completely flavorless, and I couldn’t even finish it.

The tenders were somehow even worse—so bad that the aftertaste lingered in my mouth long after trying them. My son urged me to taste one, and that was the final straw. I refused to pay for them, and instead of handling it professionally, the server got upset and said he would only charge us for the beers. In the end, we still ended up paying $35 for what was honestly one of the worst meals I can remember ever having.

On top of that, the place was swarming with flies, which made the entire meal even more unpleasant.

Overall, the food was inedible, the service was rude and chaotic, and the environment was unhygienic. I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Just sitting at the bar is a vibe. Bartenders are very friendly and accommodating. Came in for Old Fashioned Fridays and it did not disappoint. Came awhile back around Halloween as well for the more expensive “build your own” old fashioned …while I prefer those, I also love a good deal. Just know you’re getting 100 proof on the build your own. The classic they use 80 proof. Still need to come back for food. Will update my review when I do!

We love coming here every weekend for our bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary’s! We love the waitress Jazmine. She is always so sweet and welcoming! The chicken pot pie is to DIE for. Seriously one of the best things I have ever had.

I was very surprised at how yummy the chicken and waffles were. A unique twist by it being bacon and jalapeño and cornbread. Went super well with my Bloody Mary! Definitely coming back here again with my friends.

Our server Estephania was the best! She was quick, efficient and dedicated to hosting a great brunch for us. We had mimosas, the shrimp shareable, a breakfast burger and a brisket scramble. The meat in the brisket scramble looked a little uncooked and fatty but other than that we enjoyed our visit.

I will note first that to me this place feels more like for drinking with food rather than a straight up restaurant with drink offerings. That’s not a bad thing, if you planing a night out for drinking and having a bite this is a great choice. We were looking for more of restaurant vibe but still kept our reservation and ate here. Feels was good and service ok. Vibes were off for us but that’s our fault.

I decided to stop by for food and wine and I am so glad I picked this lovely little gem!

Food: 9/10
The menu isn’t so vast so you aren’t overwhelmed with choices, but I still asked the bartender for his recommendation and I’m so glad I did! I had to take this place up on their statement that they had the best burgers in LB, and even though I got a burger with quite a bit going on it did not disappoint! Any meat lover will dive into the napoleon with pure delight and the red blend wine the bartender recommended to pair with the burger was purely divine. I am sad I couldn’t experience the fondue Gouda cheese and had to opt for the vegan cheese instead due to my extreme lactose and tolerance. The fries were the only part that was simply ok, I would recommend offering seasoned fries because they were quite bland, but perhaps it’s a great options for people not wanting to take in too much salt.

Vegans can be happy with this joint because they have several vegan options! Also note they have beer on tap that isn’t in the menu.

Service: 10/10
Luis took such good care of me and I enjoyed all of his recommendations. He was very attentive, patient, kind and knowledgeable of the menu.

Ambiance: 10/10
Laid back and decent amount of seating. As usual I just seat myself at the bar. Clean and welcoming!

Just be aware that the parking is the same as any other joint in DTLB, gotta cross your fingers and hope you get something close by. They’ve turned the street curb parking into paid parking. I lucked out and found an available spot in the neighborhood right around the corner.

Came here as a party of 10ish on a Friday. Lovely staff that allowed us to split 4 ways (that is their maximum). I ordered their brisket nachos and a friend ordered their Bleu Cheese Wedge salad, substituting the bleu cheese for cheddar and adding a seared seasame encrusted ahi tuna on top.

They brought our food in a timely manner. The brisket nachos feed two, and if you’re a light eater maybe three. The brisket was okay but a slight bit dry, and the cheese is made Texas style with a bit of sweetness to it. The salad itself was huge, with lots for leftover.

The atmosphere wasn’t particularly special but was nice.
