Looking at the meals around us, all the food looked good, and when we asked people if they liked what they had, all said yes.
We will be back.
It didn’t disappoint. The food was so good and flavorful you didn’t need to add anything to it. Now it makes sense why there wasn’t S&P on the table. You didn’t need it!
I couldn’t decide what I wanted so I got a few things. Probably more than I needed! The calamari, the pretzel, the chips & dip and the kale Cesar salad. My boyfriend got the chowder and the fish and chips. Everything was made from scratch, presumably right down to the batter they used to bread the fried goodies with. Hand cut fries and chips, all the dressings and sauces are made there (although I don’t think the ketchup was homemade? Just tasted like your standard delicious ketchup) and the chowder is made to order.
One of the most impressive parts was the cost for what you get. Not only are you getting a made from scratch meal but the portions were big and the prices are very reasonable considering the rising costs of food in general.
We highly recommended this place for a family to eat at an affordable price and a quality meal.
We will be coming again!
Not pictured was the huge crock of creamy, and delicious seafood chowder with huge chunks of seafood. We also ordered six oysters from three different New England regions!!!
For dinner, (and also pictured) shrimp and grits, and Mac-N-Cheese with fried chicken!!!
Dinner was absolutely delicious and decadent. The price for a quality, and just amazingness was just awesome!!!
Chris was a delightful bartender. He made us awesome cocktails, and even indulged our interest in their homemade pickles before we departed.
Don’t pass this place up if you love delicious food for a good price, and super friendly atmosphere.
I swear I have no affiliation to this restaurant and people who own it , and I also do no typically write reviews….justwanted to put it out there because it was an all around great meal!!!!
Wait, sorry, the Smoldering Seahorse
Nope, that’s not it either… the Blazing Bluefin!
THE SMOKING TROUT! Yes! That is it!
If you are now picturing a dapper fedora wearing fish, casually partaking in the consumption of a carcinogenic leaf-tube while sipping a Manhattan and discussing politics, you’ve got the right idea.
Come for the fresh menu consisting of farm to table food, weekly specials on hand-crafted cocktails, and stay for the atmosphere as you dine surrounded by a gallery consisting of artists local to the NH / VT area, with friendly and attentive staff to boot.
No, I’m not paid to do this. I just really like this place. The food SLAPS, especially if you’re visiting after a few stops at some of Massachusets or Vermont’s local “greenhouses.” Go and seek consumable wisdom from the fish. You won’t regret it.
