The story behind The Smokehouse is long and perhaps needs a book on its own. Long story short – Smokehouse developed from an outdoor barbecue catering venture and encouraged by the titles and diplomas (awards) from international barbecue and grilling competitions. Hot smoked dishes are prepared by the slow cooking technique using alder logs to give a smooth, tender and a bit of a sweet taste. Some of our meat items are smoked up to 20 hours. By our vision, three components are equally important – ambiance, service and food. It is our aim that clients leaving The Smokehouse have a happy stomach and a smile on their face.

Looking on the strip this place had some good lunch specials. Sadly they missed the mark on the food quality. Some of the food is good while others is a miss. Starting with the rib plate. The place is called Smokehouse and you can see the nice pink ring in the ribs Sadly though the ribs were dry and not tender. For me it was like they used old ribs and reheated. Flavor was good as the BBQ sauce. The cooked potatoes had a tad to much pepper. The beets were bland and not like the ones you would get in Poland. The chicken schnitzel was flattened and cooked nicely as were the fries that came with mayo like Germany. Salad was a little bland. The Maltese sausages were good and just a tad overcooked but still had that moisture you want in a smoked sasuage. The Swedish meatballs were just as good as Ikea which means maybe overpriced. The mashed potatoes were great with the pieces of potatoes. For myself that may have been the best of all the food we had. The beer they recommend and on special was good. May not be draft but when slowed poured it still had a nice head. Sat outside and not busy. Smokers sat down and affected the feel we had. Recommend inside if you dont smoke.

Their lunch offers are highly recommended for its price, portion size and for bringing comforting northern European style food to Malta- I really enjoy their Swedish meatballs with beetroot salad. However, ribs and chicken wings to be avoided – they’re very dry and chewy. Cocktails can be better too, but they have a good beer and wine selection, therefore I suggest to go with that !

Horrible Restaurant. Got a 80% fat brisket burger and so dry ribs you cant even eat them. Like jerky it taste. After i sended the Pictures you see, they told me it is like it should be. So look the pictures and choose if you come to this place…

Great food, very good service. I’d I didn’t enjoy different nationalities foods that you can have in Malta then I would have eaten here more than once. I had the belly pork, with beetroot and chips. The pork was tender and juicy and I would recommend it.

I ordered a medium-rare ribeye and it was very dissapointing, however, their sides were decent. The ribeye was not cut properly, was very dry and was not medium-rare, as it lacked the bloody interior typical of that heat. The staff was kind however.

Really nice place if you are a meat enjoyer. During lunch hours they have amazing offers where you can eat ribs or pork steak with sides for only 12 euros and they are really tasty and big portions. On the evening you can enjoy a perfectly cooked steak which is a little bit more pricy but it is worth it. They also have amazing cocktails which are made in the cocktail bar next to the restaurant.

We tried two dishes: the shashlik and the pulled pork burger. Both were flavorful and well-prepared. The pulled pork was juicy and tender, and the shashlik had a nice smoky char. The fries were a bit soft for my taste, but they were still enjoyable, especially alongside the excellent mains.
Overall, Smõkehouse offers great value, especially with the beer deal, and the food is satisfying. If you’re in Malta and craving something hearty with a touch of Estonian flavor, this spot is worth checking out.

We had two of the ‘lunch’ specials that are available until 6 p.m.! Both the Swedish meatballs and the pork steak were awesome. And the 2-for-1 espresso martinis were delish! Service was great.

Food was overall very good and fairly priced. I had a brisket burger which for the most part was good, but the brisket was very fatty in places. The fries were excellent. Service was a tale of two halves, with one of the waiters being friendly and attentive, while the other looked like he’d rather be anywhere else, and would barely say a word. Atmosphere was great though on a Saturday night with lots going on and some music to enjoy
