We actually arrived at lunch time but the place was booked. There was a wedding going on outside. They told us to come back later mentioning the time. So we changed our plans a bit and came back. When we were back the place was basically empty. We were seated immediately in a large table as its a big group. The lunch menu was still going on. I waited for some time to order beef pot roast from the dinner menu. It came with mashed potatoes with bbq sauce, some veggies and a salad with Italian dressing. Beef was average and broccoli was somewhat soggy. My partner got beef brisket sandwich. It came with fries, sauce and coleslaw. The coleslaw was very fresh and fries were superb. But the best dish was the pizza in my opinion. Super fresh n delicious. The outdoor environment is great with amazing views.

The hamburgers were good and the side dishes were good too, but the brisket was hard… very sad. The restaurant has on line menu which is totally different in person but is not a big deal. The service was excellent, the young lady had a great attitude. Overall the lodge is pretty and comfortable with a huge free parking area and terrific wonderful scenic views!!

This restaurant is the best in the area! The beef brisket was so tender and juicy. They also had a lot menu choices for kids. The mozzarella sticks were amazingly cheesy and gave me a long cheese pull. The service was excellent as well! Not to mention there’s a breathtaking view of the mountain right behind the restaurant/lodge. Great place to eat if you’re in the area!

They seem to have a “limited” menu more often than not. Food is remarkably average for a premium price. $20 for a burger that was actually cooked perfectly, but somehow had absolutely no flavor. It was as if they forgot to season the meat. I can spend $9.99 at the grocery store for a pound of beef and make 4 burgers that actually have flavor for 1/2 the cost of one burger here. The fries were mediocre and half of them were burnt or overcooked and hard enough to worry about tooth damage if you ate them.
Staff was friendly and did their best, but they hardly had anyone working on a night when the dining room was half full leading to one waitress having to manage all of the guests and tables. Atmosphere was very quiet and bland, like eating in a library. I imagine it’s better during lunch or daytime when you can actually see the nice views outside. Would not recommend for dinner, there are much better places locally in Davis that have excellent food with flavor for a much better value. Parking lot was also not well plowed/salted so it was an ice skating rink. Watch your step!

Our family was in town for a family reunion. The Smokehouse was able to accommodate our party of 28 ranging in age from 6 to 78. Food was delicious and there was a variety to choose from. The service was excellent.
Behind the restaurant is a beautiful scenic overlook. It was an amazing way to end our dinner getting incredible family pictures!

The lodge and park is a wonderful, beautiful and unique vibe. We had a large party and the service was excellent, the food was great, very thoughtfully prepared not just thrown at you by a frustrated staff like most places. I wanted to thank the chef. the barbeque meals are delicious with large portions, the maple salmon on spinach salad was perfectly prepared and my daughter said the breakfast buffet was amazing. the lodge is clean, comfortable, welcoming and the view is gorgeous. can’t wait to go back.

Very nice service. Food was good view was pretty. We were there for dinner steak was little pricey so we ordered ribs and pot roast with salads. Food was good. Atmosphere was pretty as there are windows all around the dining area. You have view of the sun setting and outside are nice benches and swings to sit in after you’re done. Which we did and watched a beautiful sunset.

I had a nice breakfast buffet, bacon, sausage, berries and yogurt, eggs and coffee. There was lots more to choose from, but I can’t go too crazy! All was good but the coffee, it had lots of grounds in it ☹️but everyone else’s in my party was fine, just got a bad cup I guess.
This place is in an idyllic location with a beautiful view and a large backyard viewing area, the view alone is worth the trip.
