Stopped in during the snowstorm last weekend, and there were maybe two other tables there. Food was delicious, but the brisket was cold – which kind of stunk especially since no one was there so you’d expect it to be hot and fresh. The corn bread was yummy! Pulled pork and Brussels sprouts were just a little too sweet, but still super tasty. The chai Mai tai was made properly and such a good pick!

The best BBQ that I’ve ever had!

The meat was unbelievably tender—falling apart at the touch of a fork. The homemade sauce was outstanding and truly elevated the flavors. The mac & cheese was incredibly delicious and perfectly creamy!
The place is spacious and well organized, and the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. I loved everything about it and would highly recommend this spot. I’ll definitely be back!

Dinner at The Smoke Shop – Seaport was phenomenal. We started with the brisket & cheese spring rolls—perfectly crispy and absolutely delicious. For dinner we shared the Pitmaster for two, and let’s just say everything literally melted in our mouths. Huge shoutout to our server Tara, who was incredibly informative and attentive—hands down the best service we’ve had in a long time. We’ll definitely be back! ️

Great Bbq spot. Consistent with the other restaurants part of the same family. All the classics in their delicious form. All the meats and sides were perfect. Not a lot of local craft beers. Some of the staff were really nice, unfortunately we got stuck with the server guy that was not present, took our order and was never seen again after we had paid. Ended up calling someone else to be able to pay, this nice lady got the to instead of him.

Not gonna lie, being from the south the land of BBQ, I was a little skeptical as to how well Boston could do BBQ! Well let me say they killed it! The food was very good and full of flavor. Had the cheese fries a new take on cheese fries couldn’t stop eating them, brisket was so good! Corn bread Mac & cheese all delicious. All I can say from a Southerner well done!

We visited The Smoke Shop today for Dine Out Boston. They are offering a starter, entree, and dessert for $38, which is a pretty good deal! We felt the portions were appropriate and the food was pretty good.

We each ordered different things to try a variety. For our starters we got the Mac and cheese bites (you get 4 and they’re pretty big), the sliders, and the sausage. The sausage was served with crackers which turned out to be just saltines with no sauce, which felt kind of silly, but the sausage itself was good and spicy. For entrees we got the salad, the chicken basket, and brisket with sides. The dessert that came with the meal was their butter cake.

The salad had a fancier name that I don’t remember, and came with choice of dressing, sliced almonds, and green beans (which seemed canned and were picked out). The menu said that the salad came with choice of meat but did not include that there would be an extra charge–when we mentioned this to our server, she spoke to the manager and had it removed. Not sure why you’d offer a meatless salad on the menu; hopefully they update their menu or simply remove the charge.

We really enjoyed the butter cake, though we wish it had something with it, like strawberries or caramel sauce. The brisket was a bit dry, but the sauces helped.

Our server was great and we enjoyed the outdoor seating. Overall we spent $160 for three people after tax, tip, and a couple of drinks.

Being a native Texan transplant I have a deep love of BBQ. I’m always on the hunt for great BBQ in New England and when traveling abroad. My Go-To BBQ establishment is The Smoke Shop. July 2025 my brother and I celebrated there with Bacon wrapped Hotdogs, Beef Ribs, Potato Salad, Mac n Cheese, Cornbread, bourbon Barrel Ale and Smoked Whiskey! Shout out to “Bao” at the Seaport location. He’s all around awesome, knowledgeable and courteous. Thanks for the welcoming service!

The only reason why I gave this location 1 star was just so that i Could write this review.
Me and my fiancé decided to rush into The smoke shop BBQ around 10:30 even though the last call for food was at 10:45. When we had called they told us we would have no problem being served, so we took a look at the menu on the way there just to be prepared. We arrived, ordered by 10:40pm. Then we were ready to leave the restaurant around 10:55 Because the food was rushed out, cold, bland & the bread was hard. Not only that, but the bottles of sauce they provided on the table were basically empty. We notified the server we did not enjoy the food whatsoever, that we wanted to pay & Not take our leftovers because we wanted to rush to another restaurant to actually go enjoy a meal. The server seemed like she did not care, as she did nothing to try to improve our experience. Then proceeded to charge us full price for the whole meal even though all we ate was the watermelon & cornbread. As a local of boston,
As someone who has worked in hospitality as a server for years, if your craving BBQ & friendly service, stay away from here.

We went on a Wednesday night and it was fairly busy. We had 4 different meats and they were all delicious, the sides were really good too. Too much food for us to finish so bring a good appetite! No draft beers available nor our second choice of drink either but it didn’t really detract from the experience as the drinks menu is plentiful. Good value for money, nice service and a relaxed atmosphere with great food – we will definitely be back

The place is easy to find with the neon red BBQ and SMOKE HOUSE signs outside. The atmosphere is very country like with thick wood tables and heavy wood chairs. The game is on the tv’s and the wood American flag hangs proudly on the wall. You can see the kitchen and the cooks. My waitress fooled me because I thought she was from Texas but she told me she was a Boston girl. Excellent service. I gave the food 4 stars because im a food critic and I smoke meats myself back home Maine. Any one who knows me will tell you that im my own worst critic. I ordered the three meat plate with three sides. I got brisket, burnt ends, and pulled pork. My sides were mashed sweet potatoes, beans, and Mac and cheese. The brisket was good but not excellent. Good portion. The burnt ends were not as tender as I wanted and not caramelized enough but still good. The pulled pork was moist and nice. The mashed potatoes were over the top and the Mac n cheese was great. Hand made. The beans had a chunk of brisket in them and they were awesome. I will definitely be back to try the smoked turkey and chicken. Great menu and good place for anyone who enjoys bbq.
