Stopped here for a light lunch. To begin, You can’t beat the location or the scenery while having your meal or perhaps just an afternoon drink. You can sit inside or on the layered deck that allows you to watch the boats on the lake. While we were there, several boaters docked up and families stopped by for an afternoon break. When I was there it was “self serve”. You go to a service window and order and pay. There is a bar code that you can also use, but not being American, I was unable to use it. Our food was delivered to the table and it was typical pub food – pretty tasty. The drinks were refreshing and delicious. It looks like there might the possibility to swim there but I didn’t observe this. Would I go again – You bet.

This place is right on the lake with a long pier for boats. The food was awesome, and the drinks were hardy. The staff seemed preoccupied with themselves, but they came to serve when you called on them. I liked the feel of this place with a large gas fireplace and great views of the lake.

The view at this place is unrivaled. We made a special trip to give it a try. We were waterfront with some incredible food. We had the bison burger, steak tacos, and the spicy burger. We got our food quickly and drinks from the bar, if you’re considering eating here, you won’t regret it.

Being able to boat to a restaurant was awesome and the views were amazing. It’s like a college bar, chaos and unorganized. There is not a lot of room to dock your boat, and there were kids jumping in the water off of the docks with several boats coming in and out. You seat yourself and order food from one place and drinks from another. Would boat across the way to a different restaurant!

What a hidden gem! We keep going back. The food and drinks are great along with the best setting in the area and fantastic local hosts. If you’re looking for a casual and relaxing break, stop here just past Bigfork.

Amazing food and views. Highly recommend the ahi nachos and pretzels for appetizers. The elk brat was meh, but everything else we ordered really hit the spot.
They have a dog friendly multi-level patio out back overlooking the water making this a place you must stop in to enjoy.
Honestly it’s a bit pricey, but this is typical for the area.

Gorgeous view and great atmosphere. Grab a table, order drinks at the bar and food at the counter. GF choices. Huckleberry wings are good. We had the prime rib dip, fries, and salad. All yummy.

I had an amazing time at **The Sitting Duck**! The bartenders were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. The day started off cloudy with a whisper of rain, but, in true Montana fashion, the weather turned quickly, transforming into a stunning scene faster than a duck’s fart!
The restaurant itself is a gem—great atmosphere, beautiful views, and excellent service. Whether you’re stopping in for a drink, a bite, or just soaking in the lakeside vibes, it’s a must-visit spot. Highly recommend!

My wife grew up in the area. This was my first time in MT. We had heard of this place and had to try it. I got the Bison Burger and fries…. holy smokes… best burger I’ve ever had. My wife got the cod and a salad which she enjoyed alot. We’ll definitely stop by again next time we’re here.
