We were lucky to stop by on a Wednesday when they had trivia and it was nearly a full house. Staff was great and so friendly!
What truly sets Sipp apart is Emily, the owner. Emily is the kind of proprietor who greets you by name, remembers small details about her regulars, and greets newcomers with genuine curiosity and hospitality. Emily recommended a beer based off a few questions and nailed it. It’s number 9 on the beer list.
She’s clearly invested in creating a space where people feel seen and at home. Her hands-on leadership shows in everything from the polished event nights to the carefully sourced offerings behind the counter. Whether she’s introducing a local artist, overseeing a themed community night, or chatting with a guest about their favorite blend, Emily’s warmth and competence elevate the whole experience.
Sipp Public House also nails the small things that matter: timely refills, thoughtful dietary options, and a calm but lively soundtrack that complements conversation without overpowering it. It’s a rare local business that manages to be both polished and personal, and that balance will keep people coming in to relax.
If you’re in the area and want a place that feels like a neighborhood living room with exceptional service and heart, Sipp is the spot. Emily’s leadership and obvious dedication to community make it not just a business, but a genuine gathering place. She’s very cool! Highly recommend.
The Sipp menu is small, yet the dishes are outstanding with good sized portions and very reasonable prices. The owner is a trained culinary chef, and the quality of the menu reflects this expertise in every bite. We started with the spectacular Beet Salad, featuring fresh arugula, shaved shallots, and creamy feta, all tossed in a delightful lemon vinaigrette. We also indulged in the recommended Roasted Broccolini, served with a tasty whipped feta and lemon vinaigrette. Finally, the Stuffed Mushrooms with sausage and pesto were savory, rich, and very satisfying. This was plenty for my partner and I to share for dinner.
The Sipp Public House is a comfortable local pub with cozy areas for conversation and incredible culinary creations. We will be back in the near future.
The vibe is upscale, but the prices were very reasonable. Really excited to see this place take off!
Their beer lineup is impressive, featuring standout selections and insider favorites you don’t often find on tap elsewhere. The bar has an energetic feel that’s engaging without ever feeling too loud or crowded.
What really makes Sipp special, though, is the people. From the owners to the bartenders and servers, everyone is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which gives the place a personal, neighborhood feel.
They also shine when it comes to events—karaoke, trivia, and other themed nights bring a fun buzz and foster a strong sense of community. Whether you’re stopping by for a low-key drink, meeting friends, or settling into a couch with a great beer, Sipp fits the moment perfectly.
If you’re anywhere near Hazel Dell, it’s absolutely worth checking out. Highly recommended.
Not a gunslinger in sight.
Not a single Sipp troop on duty.
Zero. Zip. Ghost town.
I was looking forward to reconning this new objective, grabbing an IPA, and testing out their “small bites,” but instead I got dealt the culinary equivalent of a Dead Man’s Hand — aces and eights — and a splitting headache to go with it.
The sign on the door?
“Opens Fridays at 1400.”
NOT 1200 as advertised.
Disinformation? Bad comms? Failure to update SOP? Doesn’t matter — it completely FUBAR’d my timeline. With another appointment inbound and no time left for a proper meal, I exfil’d straight to McDonald’s for a fast-food MRE.
Good thing I had to be in that sector anyway — it’s a 30-minute convoy from my FOB. Otherwise, it would’ve been a full RTB with zero target acquisition — a totally wasted trip.
Here’s the deal, troops:
If you’re going to change your hours, especially during a week when you’re expecting Yelp Elite forces to conduct taste-testing ops and deliver high-value reviews, then UPDATE YOUR HOURS — on Yelp, Google Maps, and your own damn website (see photos).
Because making customers burn fuel for an hour-long round-trip just to find a locked objective?
That’s a mission failure.
