I have frequented this restaurant many times as I am both living in Nashville and Oxford. Tonight I experienced the worst service and attitude by the restaurant manager. As a successful business owner who has designed and opened successful venues in Nashville, I was surprised and appalled by his comments to me. The wait staff was talking about us on the side and continually refused to turn the music down in our space. As you can see the restaurant was so busy as there are 4 other patrons. As I always tell my staff, our customers are always correct. We never argue and we always accommodate! The manager actually said to my party of four, (while there were only 4 others in the entire restaurant) “people usually watch this at home”. Wrong answer! KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE!! II will never return and encourage all of you to choose another restaurant in Oxford! Reach out to me for suggestions!

Visiting from out-of-town and this place was recommended. The highlights of my visit being the bar staff’s friendliness and the wine selection. I had ordered the smoked old fashioned and it was decent. The wine selection was great though. Upon arrival, I waited outside for almost 20 minutes past opening before the doors were unlocked. That struck me as odd until later noticing I was the only patron until about 6:30 pm. As for the dinner, it left a lot to be improved upon. I ordered the Cher’s Steak (medium) and it arrived well-done. Worse, it tasted like it has been soaked in fish oil. Not a single bite tasted like steak, rather fish and salt. The potatoes tasted like salt and onions. No single flavor of creamy, buttery potatoes. Thankfully, the asparagus tasted like asparagus. It was very limp and soggy though. If returning for more business meetings, I may return for wine but would never eat here again. Being the only patron and the food arriving that way showed that zero attention to detail was paid in the kitchen.

I always have an amazing experience at The Sipp, but Ally and Alaina behind the bar make it truly exceptional. They’re not only incredibly skilled bartenders, but they bring such a friendly, welcoming energy every time I walk in.
Ally is so attentive and quick — she remembers drink preferences, makes perfect recommendations, and her cocktails always taste amazing. Alaina is just as incredible, super personable, and creates such a fun atmosphere while still being professional and on top of everything.
Together, they make the bar feel like the best spot in Oxford: great drinks, great vibes, and genuinely great people. If you’re looking for a place with top-tier service and a cozy, elevated experience, go see Ally and Alaina at The Sipp. They’re the reason I keep coming back!

Love this place! Fantastic restaurant in a great location on the Square but away from the crowds. The staff and management go out of their way to be friendly and helpful, and the food is incredible every time. Consistently a great experience that I highly recommend!

The Sipp is a great place for many occasions. Casual seating outside on the patio or at the bar, more formal seating and atmosphere inside the restaurant. Servers are knowledgable about drink pairing and the menu – and are very patient. The wine and whiskey flights are well-curated and the cocktails are great! I enjoy their small plates best, but their entrees are good as well. The fig bruschetta and the brussel sprouts are among my favorites.

Sat at the bar and enjoyed the exceptional selection of bourbon. I didn’t dine but can say the food being delivered to the surrounding tables looked and smelled delicious. Our bartender was extremely knowledgeable, she introduced us to a few bourbons we have since sought out. Many thanks.

The SIPP is truly a gem in Oxford, MS, offering exceptional food and outstanding service. It’s an absolute must-visit when in town for Ole Miss! We make it a point to stop here on every trip, and the Manager always greets us warmly while crafting one-of-a-kind, spectacular drinks. One of the finest restaurants on the Square—highly recommended by this loyal fan!
