Ordered via Grubhub, so fully acknowledge that I’m spreading the blame.

First time ordering, so ordered the kids portion (didnt want to waste it if I didnt like it). Grubhub ran deal for $$ of certain order amt, so I had to order up to that amount. I added on the greek fries and tomato/cucumber salad.

Both of the add ons were a disappointment. The fries came in a bag, with about 5 small pieces of feta on them, cool to the touch, no oil or oregano to be had. The salad was 2 large tablespoons full, warm (should be cold), and priced at $4 delivered. I’ll get to the kids meal in a minute.

Now before you say – it’s grubhub, what did you expect… Know that I do expect a lot. First, if I could go out to get something right now, I would never had been to this place, because it’s too far for me to go on my lunch. This is why I agree to pay GH fees and tip a driver. So the fact that places from further away from me can pull in a bigger audience – then it’s the price of advertising for them. 2nd – I’m paying a premium to order through grubhub. When you pay $1-$3 or more EXTRA PER ITEM, just because you’re ordering it through GH or another delivery service, then darn right – I expect it to be as pictured.
How is it any different then going through the drive-thru for fast food. You get past the line, you pull over and check your order, and if you got a single burger instead of a double, then you march back in and demand the correction of the order.
Restaurant’s that participate in this delivery – EXPECT that they are justified in charging a higher price because they are paying for the advertising/service of GH/the like – and they are passing that expense on to it’s customers. Then, they EXPECT that if the order is wrong, they wont have to correct it because it’s too much of a hassle for the customer who has already waited 30 minutes to an hour to get their food. Pizza companies have been delivering food for years, and who doesn’t call and complain when they get an incorrect order, and what pizza company does not then turn around and replace the pizza that is incorrect – instilling some sort of responsibility towards making it right the first time. /endrant

Kids meal – Lemon Chicken bowl. Chicken was quality, tasty ingredients – though sparce – were good, enjoyed the pickled onions. Not sure if this was supposed to be served cold or hot, it was neither.

I got sidetracked, and any GH/Meal delivery issues I had are not the fault of this restaurant. I will say that my order was delivered quickly. In the past I have had issues with temperature and GH’s response was “Our drivers are equipped with temperature protectant bags to use”. FYI – order GH 2-3 times per week and have NEVER seen a driver use this (even when I’ve watched them exit the car).

Bottom line: Try this place out if you are dining in, don’t pay all the extra fees for GH and the like. Probably not worth it at that point.

The Simple Greek was delicious and well-priced, but I think they were bought out by Garbanzo. They’re now more expensive and the food isn’t as good – for example, the Greek fries used to be perfectly seasoned and I could eat them forever. Now when we order, it feels like there’s too much salt and barely any oregano/parsley/whatever they put on it. The baklava also isn’t the greatest. And the falafel pita is never mixed properly so you get to the bottom and depending on what you order that’s where all your chicken is or onion, what have you. It’s also an extra $4+ for extra protein. The gyro is good though I’ll say. But they need to fix the fries and the prices and mix their dishes up.

UPDATE: We have ordered twice since I wrote this review and both times they messed up my order. I order a traditional gyro with oregano, olive oil, extra red peppers and romaine. The previous order (before tonight) was missing red peppers entirely, and had this strange thick sauce I didn’t like that much (unsure what it was). Tonight, my gyro had no romaine, no red peppers, but they did add green peppers and onions? I don’t know what’s going on but it seems like it’s always going to be a disappointment and a waste of money now, which is really unfortunate.
