Charming place serving amazingly good food especially if you are coming after hike. We came here for breakfast and had shakshuka and hash – both were great tasting with perfect amount of spices. We asked for a side order of greens that weren’t on the menu and they were able to accommodate. The decor is amazing-bar and stools, amazing looking coat hanger by the entrance and sitting area by the fireplace. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Beautiful location with amazing food and service. Definitely a new favorite for us. We really enjoyed the smoked trout pate, mussels, and ribeye. Service here was impeccable.

The restaurant is part of the Horse Shoe Farm complex. Very nice atmosphere. Great service. My friend had a breakfast that had potatoes, bacon, eggs, etc. She liked it a lot. I had a trout melt (like a tuna melt). It was interesting. Not bad but I probably wouldn’t order it again. The whole complex is beautiful though. Gorgeous accommodations.

This was a great place that we just happened to run into while we were at the Apple Festival in Hendersonville. Since there were too many people downtown at all the eatery places, we decided to venture outside the area and I am so glad we did. The food was delicious, the people were very accommodating since we came there at off hours and the views of the mountains were astonishing. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

I went with friends to celebrate our birthday and the place was beautiful, our waiter Charles was excellent. I loved the fact that we can see the chefs prepare all of our dishes through the window. All of our appetizers and food were delicious. The only complaint we had was that the entree portions were very small.

One hardy knows where to begin. Based on all the internet hype, I settled on the Silo Cookhouse for a special occasion. One of my oldest friends lives in Hendersonville and has recently survived a rather traumatic health situation. He doesn’t get out of the house much any more and I wanted this brunch to be a sort of coming out event. I drove up from Charlotte to pick up he and his lady for the brunch scheduled for noon today. As advertised on the internet, a one of a kind farm to table gustatory experience was expected. The pastries, the smoked salmon, the French toast, eggs Benedict, all prominently displayed on their web pages were no where to be found. Yup, they did have eggs and bacon (apparently they don’t know how to prepare them over easy), a. Scrambled egg wrap, and the featured item, a burgher with a fried egg on top. Almost forgot, trout with melted cheese. Really! So this is what passes for fine dinning in Hendersonville? Considering there were no other dinners when we arrived you might have expected pretty good service. The server was a delightful and charming young lady. Fortunately, she has higher aspirations than career server on her horizons. However, everything took twice as long as expected to arrive. Even the coffee took 20 minutes to show up. Asked for the check three times. I will admit the Bloody Mary was darn good. I believe Denny’s would have been a better choice. Overall, a long drive for a very disappointing brunch. This is only the third restaurant review I have written in twenty years. It was warranted.

We have been to The Silo six times since it opened. The first three times it was 5-stars across the board and it became our go to place when guests came to town. Then we went back and the menu was so small there were hardly any choices at all. The place is emptier which tells me we are not the only ones disappointed in the very small and restricted menu. In the beginning it was so great because you felt the food was personal and thought out and created for that moment. Our last three visits were in the last six months and we stayed the first time, but the food was a 2 at best. The second time we came still it was the same restricted menu and we left. When we told the hostesses why we weren’t staying they could have really cared less. Last night we stayed and the food was good, but the menu was the same as it has been for month now…… . So totally disappointing. The staff is awesome …. The two women who waited on us were fabulous. The food was good but again nothing really worthy of a restaurant that is supposed to be creative and different. Don’t know if we will go back… it is a lot of money to be underwhelmed when you are finished.

FIVE STARS. This place is a much-welcomed departure from other local dining experiences. NOT what I could have ever expected.
1. There is not one place here with a bad view. Surrounded by mountains, well-kept grounds, and art installations.
2. The bread appetizer and ribeye entree were filling and delicious. Wine, on point.
3. The bartender, Ashley, is amazing. Sasha never left us waiting on anything while seated. The manager, Brian, welcomed and made sure we were enjoying our visit.

We had an incredible dining experience at The Silo Cookhouse! We chose this unique location to celebrate a birthday, and it was well worth the short drive from Asheville. The serene setting complete with mountain views, combined with intimate and friendly service and heavenly food, made for a memorable evening.
We enjoyed a cocktail by the bar prior to our dinner on the covered patio. Our server, Erin, was exceptional, recommending a tapas-style dining experience and anticipating our needs throughout the evening. Each dish was beautifully presented, well timed and absolutely delicious.
And a big thank you for accommodating our request to sit at the end of the communal table to facilitate conversations with our older guests and for making her birthday celebrating a special one. This evening surpassed many dinning experience in Asheville and we look forward to returning soon. A large indoor cocktail lounge would be a great addition for enjoying the mountain views rain or shine!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Silo Cookhouse, and it was truly magical from start to finish. The moment you drive onto the farm, you feel transported. It’s peaceful, stunning, and full of soul. We were welcomed at the bar by Tina, whose expertly crafted cocktails and hospitality set the perfect tone for the evening. After sharing some laughs and catching up with Chef Brett Suess, we explored the property, including the iconic silo with its breathtaking 360-degree views and walls covered in affirmations and quotes which made a truly special and grounding experience.
But let’s talk about the food, because it was nothing short of extraordinary.
Chef Brett is a true artist. His kitchen is his canvas, and every dish that leaves it is a perfectly balanced composition. His attention to detail is unmatched. From the visual beauty of the plating to the way every flavor, texture, and component works in harmony. Nothing is on the plate by accident. Each element is thoughtfully chosen and purposefully placed to elevate the whole. He has this rare gift of creating food that is both refined and soulful. You can feel the love, discipline, and vision behind every bite.
We started with the PEI mussels, swimming in a citrusy, lime-kissed broth that we eagerly soaked up with slices of Chef Kyle’s phenomenal sourdough. The charred carrots were earthy and elegant, the crispy red snapper perfectly cooked. Then there was the sluttiest dish of the night—the cheesy cabbage with taleggio mousse and crispy garlic. Rich, indulgent, and totally unforgettable. If garlic is your love language, you’ll be speaking in poetry.
Chef Kyle’s desserts sealed the deal. The dark chocolate panna cotta paired with a 20-year tawny port was the kind of finale that makes your taste buds do a standing ovation. And his chocolate chip cookie? Pure joy.
The Silo Cookhouse isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a story, a journey, a celebration of place and people. From Brett’s kitchen mastery to Kyle’s baking brilliance to Tina’s welcoming energy, this is a team operating at the top of their game. We left full—body, heart, and soul.
