We were there for a birthday and he and the rest of the team made sure everything was stellar. Allong with the great service, the food excellent. My son commented that it was the best steak he’s ever had. No one went home hungry, as the portion sizes were good.
Note, if you haven’t been to a steakhouse like this, the sides don’t come with your steak order. The sides are big and are meant for sharing.
The desserts were excellent, the coconut cream pie was delicious and there cream brulee was excellent. Both are an excellent way to finish your dinner here.
If you haven’t been to the Shore Club, it worth it. Have a look at the menu on line before you do, it’s on the pricey side of Ottawa restaurants, so it’s great for a fancy treat on a special occasion.
I had a French 75 cocktail, crabcake appetizer, braised beef and a side order of fries. Most of the mains do not include sides. Overall, food was tasty but I didn’t find it outstanding. My son had a starter of brushcetta which was pretty but he found it too rich. He enjoyed tuna and a side dish of greens. My husband had soup, a steak and baked potato. Not the sides (greens and fries) are meant for sharing and are large portions. Overall, we enjoyed dinner but I prefer Al’s Steakhouse which is a notch less upscale but includes side and salad with main dishes.
The service was extremely attentive and friendly with being a little intrusive. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and perfect for a special occasion like Christmas.
A perfect place for treating yourself to a memorable meal.
We were seated at a cozy table for three in an ideal spot for people-watching, which added to the enjoyment. The atmosphere made it easy to relax, talk, and enjoy a meaningful evening together.
We discouvered our perfect 3 course meal: We shared fresh oysters to start. For mains, my husband and son shareed the 28 oz porterhouse steak, while I chose the short rib. I expected a smaller portion, but instead received an enormous, beautifully cooked short rib that surpassed my expectations in both size and flavour. Tender, rich, and perfectly prepared.
The porterhouse was cooked medium rare, exactly as ordered, and paired well with a side of roasted broccoli. Every bite was outstanding—and perfect for sharing.
Our server, Birjan Kilic, provided excellent service and confirmed the short rib is his personal favourite dish. For dessert, Birjan recommended the crème brûlée with Frangelico, which was exceptional.
For anyone searching for a top Ottawa steakhouse, oyster bar, or special-occasion restaurant downtown, this is a must-visit.
An unforgettable dining experience.
We started with the oyster and shrimp cocktail as appetizers. Both were very refreshing and fresh. For mains, my husband had the tuna and I ordered the prawns and scallops. Both dishes were excellent, but I especially loved the prawns and scallops. The scallops were cooked perfectly, melting in your mouth and pairing beautifully with the sauce. The flavors struck a wonderful balance between the natural seafood taste and the sauce.
For dessert, we tried the sorbet trio with lemon, mango, and raspberry. I especially enjoyed the lemon and raspberry for their refreshing sourness, while my husband preferred the mango as he is not a fan of sour flavors.
The cocktails we had tonight were not quite as outstanding as usual, but still very enjoyable. Overall, this restaurant is a gem. If you are staying in Western or even just passing through, it is definitely worth a visit.
Special thanks to our server Sasha for her warm service and great recommendations. She made the evening even better. Highly recommend!
