Our server Julie from Missoula was lovely! She was warm, relaxed and clearly enjoying her best life living in this region. My husband lived his prime rib. I as a vegetarian easily pivoted with fettuccine Alfredo and salad. The food was fabulous but not too fancy… I wish I could experience this venue during their tourist season.
Thank you for sharing your lakeview and majestic mountains with guests from all over. Hands-down, the most beautiful place I’ve dined at in my life!
There were mixed reviews so I was a little leery but also hungry with not a ton of options for anything else. I’m SO happy we gave them a chance. We had wings and potato skins! Big, plump and juicy. The Spicy Honey Garlic sauce was amazing!!
Our server Anna was phenomenal! They better hang onto that girl. I waited tables for twenty years, it’s rare to get a server who’s on top of everything but doesn’t over wait. She checked back when our food came, checked on us a couple of times, and cleared plates when we were finished. She brought the bill and was prompt to come back and take the payment. I really appreciated that!
The view of Flathead Lake is incredible. It almost takes your breath away when you walk in. The inside is also beautiful.
We will be back! Thank you so much for being open!
The atmosphere is elegant, with beautiful hardwood floors, massive large-pane windows that flood the space with natural light, and a full bar stocked with a wide variety of spirits. There’s ample seating, and the tables are nicely spaced out, so you won’t feel like you’re dining on top of your neighbors.
Our first visit was on a Sunday Buffet night, and we thought it would be a great way to explore the menu. They absolutely nailed it! The surf and turf had me sold—bison steaks, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, paired with massive shrimp done scampi style. It was like a culinary mic drop.
The mashed potatoes were creamy, well-seasoned with salt and black pepper, and the mac and cheese clearly showcased their mastery of a good Mornay sauce. The chicken wings had a satisfying crispiness, offered with a spicy buffalo sauce or a honey garlic option that hit all the right notes.
And the brownies—oh, the brownies—were chocolatey, fudge-like, and utterly decadent. It’s the kind of dessert that makes you consider skipping dinner entirely next time just to save room.
Our waitress, Antoinette, was an absolute delight. She explained how the buffet worked, kept our waters and drinks filled, and swiftly cleared away used plates. She even took the time to walk my wife through the buffet, pointing out the popular items, and gave us some insider knowledge on the full menu. Her attention to detail was impeccable, right down to serving from the left and taking away from the right. Antoinette made us feel like VIPs, turning a simple Sunday dinner into a special occasion.
This is hands down going to be one of our new favorite spots in the local area. If you’re anywhere near Polson, do yourself a favor and check out The Shoe—you won’t be disappointed.
Update: Ava the hostess has a great personality, and is playful with the guests. Adds a nice touch.
Mary was out waitress tonight, she was in training but did a fantastic job.
It took 20 minutes for someone to show up at our table and bring water. We were ready to order at that point because we were hungry. We ordered off the menu, no special requests. It took another 40 minutes to get one appetizer and we were informed they “ran out of bread” (our second appetizer.)
We were waiting for 1.5 hours before our waitress noticed us and we were able to ask how long it would take to get our meal. At almost 2 hours we received our food!! We were not very happy as there were several groups that were seated after we ordered yet received their food much sooner.
They did not bring out one side my son ordered, no explanation. When I later questioned why he didn’t receive his side (chips,) they informed us they “ran out.” Our waitress informed us that we would not be charged for the items they didn’t have. Really? What a shock!
The manager then came out to talk to us. When we informed her it took almost 2 hours to get our food she said we would get a 10% discount. Not impressed.
Food itself was okay, a bit salty. My son did not like his fettuccini alfredo and didn’t eat it. It looked like it was out for quite some time when they brought it to the table. My other son had the bison burger and liked it.
