Social Profile:

Hiraeth; a term unique to Wales and Welsh culture, an intangible pull on the heart that conveys a deep sense of belonging, the desire to return to the place of one’s birth, to come home. For The Shed Restaurant and Executive Chef Jonathan Woolway, our place in the world is happily Swansea. Composed along the expanse of Swansea Bay, flanked by the Gower Peninsula and Brecon Beacons, within striking distance of the fertile valleys, coastal plains and farmland of West Wales, the Waterfront City of Swansea sits at the beating heart of nature’s larder. Bounties of the season from land, sea and pasture are at our fingertips. Our daily changing menus reflect a constant creative evolution, making use of local produce at the very place.

Popped into The Shed for Valentine’s day. The menu looked great, so we asked for a table for 2.

Service was great and our meals were very nicely made. The complimentary bread was extremely moreish.

I found it a very refreshing change to have food that was already seasoned to perfection on arrival. Nothing was bland.

We had a Ribeye Steak and fried Haddock (the last one that day!) Both meals were excellent.

Well worth a visit if you’re in the SA1 area of Swansea.

The food was delicious! The servings were very generous and the dishes were very unique. Regular water refills. Really lovely ambience, could see chefs in kitchen and the music was quiet so it was really calm. Very non-oppressive atmosphere not like a lot of other restaurants. And so affordable! Only £28 for 3 courses.
I thought it was Michelin star when I went, turns out it isn’t but I wouldn’t have been surprised if it was.

We had an overwhelmingly enjoyable time at the Shed. The set lunch menu had a very appealing mixture of food and the a la carte looked good too. I had the sprouting broccoli for starter which was scrumptious and indulgent. Then for main I had rabbit and it was tender and with lovely rich gravy. The bread and butter pudding was a highlight for me as it was so tasty and freshly made.
The waiting team are all friendly and attentive and it’s cool to be able to see the chefs cooking!

Enjoyed most of the food, loved the potted crab and the liver parfait for starters, cockle croquettes also good. For mains the Skate was especially good. Sides were fine but desserts were excellent, loved the Strawberry trifle and the rice pudding.
Drinks wise they had a good selection of wines available by the glass.
Service was very cold, certainly not something I’m used to, I don’t think any of the staff wanted to be there, my elderly parents felt very unwelcome and have said they’ll never go back which is a shame. Staff didn’t even bother explaining the cheeses on the cheese board.
Definitely worth a visit if you appreciate this type of cooking

I had a fantastic experience at The Shed in Swansea. The steak was cooked to perfection , beautifully seasoned, tender, and exactly as ordered. You can tell real care goes into the quality of the produce and the execution on the plate.

The wine menu was equally impressive, with a great selection that complements the food perfectly. It’s clear thought has gone into curating a list that elevates the whole dining experience.

Service was excellent from start to finish, attentive, friendly, and professional without being overbearing. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between relaxed and refined.

My compliments and condolences to the head chef, an incredible job in the kitchen. It truly shows in every detail. I’ll definitely be returning.

The food is unique and delicious – cockle croquettes, sea bass with charred cabbage and a delicious red sauce, followed by olive oil parfait. What made my experience particularly outstanding was the excellent service and advice from the person who took my order and brought the food. She was warm, friendly and seemed to genuinely care about making sure everyone enjoyed their food and their time at the restaurant. The ambiance is also calming.

My husband and I had Sunday lunch today which was fabulous. We both had a 3 course meal with myself having lamb as the mains and my husband the beef. Each course was tasty and a delight to eat , the best we’ve had in a long time. The wine was delicious, the staff very pleasant and the atmosphere great. What a lovely time spent at The Shed. Will definitely be back.

I recently had dinner at this amazing high-end restaurant and it was fantastic! The crab and flatbread starter was super fresh and tasty, with the crab’s sweetness perfectly balanced by the crisp flatbread.

The duck breast with chickpea and kale was the star of the show. The duck was incredibly tender and juicy, with a rich, savory flavor. The chickpeas added a nice earthy touch, while the kale brought a slight bitterness that balanced the dish perfectly. Pairing it with a glass of house red wine made it even better, as the wine’s rich notes complemented the savory duck.

I also tried the cockle croquette small plate, and it was a great addition. They were crispy on the outside and filled with a creamy, flavorful mixture of cockles. Absolutely delicious!

The service was fantastic, with friendly and attentive staff making sure everything was perfect. The ambiance was beautiful, with elegant decor and a calm atmosphere that made the evening even more special.

I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy amazing food and great service. Definitely worth a visit!
