The Shack served up a decent meal—good, classic lakeside breakfast that satisfied. However, the front-of-house experience left a lot to be desired. When we arrived, the hostess didn’t acknowledge us, take our name, or give any estimate on the wait time. It was clear they were overwhelmed and likely understaffed, but even basic organization or communication would’ve made a huge difference.
What did make the experience memorable was pairing up with another couple (a lovely mom and adult daughter) to get a table faster. Sharing conversation with them was a true highlight and reminded us how a good meal is about more than just the food.
With more structured service, this could easily be a five-star spot. Still worth a visit—just go in with a little patience and maybe make a new friend or two while you wait.

Perfect casual breakfast spot. My kid’s said it was the best pancakes they ever had so we bought a few packages of dry mix. Staff were sweet and attentive.

The food is always great here, long time patron, homemade sauces and flavors with locally sourced ingredients! its an experience every time, but Liz’s service this time was so good it tipped the scales and I had to leave a review. 5 stars all day everyday in every way I LOVE the shack

My wife and I want to say the food was great, perfect for a quick lunch with kids! The management and staff are very professional and caring! We accidentally left our diaper bag behind which had our daughter’s medicine. I contacted them on Instagram after we left and they came back to drop off the bag! Really spectacular customer service, they could of easily said tomorrow.

Nice place for breakfast. I would have given this a five star rating if the eggs were local and the potatoes were crispy. I am always happy when I can get some gluten free toast and orange marmalade. The three egg omelette was great and I appreciated that I could have as many vegetables as I wanted at no extra charge. Morgan was sweet and attentive.

Nice little place to grab a bite to eat. Had lunch here (the Rubin) and it was a very good sandwich.
They have Pumpkin pancakes but unfortunately I missed those due to the time of day we stopped.
Very clean interior and the patio looks just as nice to sit out on even in the fall setting.
Very pleased with the food and servers. Our server was a very friendly young woman who sounded very committed enthusiastic to the items on their menu all the way to the apple cider donuts she make for the shack.
I’ll have to stop back for some of those bad boys after a walk!
If you’re in town looking for a bit to eat, stop into the The Shack.

We at breakfast at the shack and had classic breakfast dishes, my husband had eggs Florentine and I had an omelet made to order. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. We were seated immediately and our sever Mikayla served us with efficiency, energy and a smile. Would definitely come back!

The Shack is our favorite place to get breakfast! Not only are Matt’s Famous Pancakes the absolute best (with the fruit puree!!), but the environment is cozy and wonderful. I have to mention their music as part of the atmosphere because it is so unique, peaceful, and memorable! On top of that, every member of their staff is so kind!
