The Select

  4.6 – 2,386 reviews   • New American restaurant

The Select was inspired by Paris’ famed Le Select, the chic 1920’s brasserie known for being a free-spirited meeting place where artists and literary figures such as Hemmingway, Fitzgerald, Chagall, Picasso and Gertrude Stein who were looking for a safe haven for their progressive intellectual discussions, gathered. In fact, between the two wars, the entire Montparnasse area, where Le Select is located, was known as a sanctuary for creative and religious freedom and expression. A respite from everyday life, The Select’s elegant yet approachable backdrop is perfect to enjoy the vibrant flavors of a seasonally inspired menu, and the most wonderful hand-crafted cocktails.

Art Deco inspired restaurant plating modern European cuisine with an open kitchen & conservatory.

Got there towards the end of happy hour. Heard great things about their burger and had to check it out. Good deal on food during happy hour as prices are a bit cheaper but it’s limited to food (no happy hour on drinks which was a bummer) Burger was a sesame bun but in pictures and on their own website it seemed to be brioche. Decent taste but wasn’t mind blowing as it was hyped to be. Not sure if it was because it’s a Happy Hour version where it’s made cheaper or what. Dessert (toffee pudding) was the best thing I ate.
Disappointed that they upsell on their “house” martinis with Grey Goose but don’t actually mention it beforehand. Seems a bit underhanded to say “is Grey goose OK? ” after I order the espresso as if I know what your house drink already includes. Had I known it wasn’t made with Grey Goose, I would at least know and would have all the info to then make that decision to upgrade the drink. But all in all, food was eaten drinks were had. An experience nonetheless.

My friends and I had a lovely dinner at The Select. We had 7:00 reservations. I was the first to arrive and I really appreciated that this restaurant didn’t make me wait until my entire party arrived to be seated. Our server Jeremy H was attentive, polite and made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were great and the bartender didn’t skimp on the alcohol. We ordered the crab dip as our appetizer and we all had the braised short rib as our entree. Everything was 10/10.

We had a dinner reservation for a party for 2 on Monday, 6/23/25, at 7 pm. We were seated right away. Our waiter was Oumar and he was great!

We split a soup and salad and we each got an entree. Here’s what we got:
– French Onion Soup ($15): Good!
– Peach Burrata ($16): Wish the burrata had been creamier, but it was still really good. Very pretty presentation!
– Miso Sea Bass ($46): Deeeeelicious, wow.
– Grilled Trout Almondine ($29): Super good. The celery root puree was amazing.

Highly recommend!!

We stopped in here on what seemed to be a fun Live singing night. Nicole our Waitress was so fun and so nice which helps bump the overall experience. We had some small bites was all but I can say, food was excellent, and cocktails were made on point. We aren’t in the area a ton but we will most certainly be coming back to try more. A+

Parking deck was easy to navigate although I was told online and by the parking attendant the restaurant would validate parking and they didn’t. That was disappointing I would have just valeted. Walking in the ambience was nothing exciting. I couldn’t see the advertised decor from the main dining area, no biggie, just nothing special. It was really loud and at one point the lights kept being dimmed then turned back up a few times. Service was pretty good nothing amazing but not bad at all. I did have trouble hearing because it was so loud.
Food was ok. The appetizers were best part the octopus was delicious and the sauce for the duck meatballs had me licking the plate. The sea bass was not that great and the black rice was mushy. I got the cocktail in the bird glass and it was also a let down. I probably would try again for a happy hour but wouldn’t go back for sit down dinner.

We had a reservation so were able to be seated immediately. Great ambiance and decorations, including the multicolored lanterns across the space. I ordered the cocktail that came in a glass shaped like a bird, which was cute but felt more like a novelty considering the amount of drink, as well as the price. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. However, the food came out relatively slow, and I didn’t particularly enjoy any of the dishes we ordered. The risotto was bland, and the portion sizes of the entrees felt more like appetizer portions.

We had Tara as our server and she was phenomenal! She gave us wonderful recommendations and was very attentive! Super impressed by the food and the ambience! My husband and I were celebrating a late Valentine’s day and it was so perfect to spend it at select! Try the Caesar salad it’s PHENOMENAL and you can split it! We also did the crab dip and it was we will be back! Ask for Tara!!

I had a great experience and time. I actually saw the restaurant on a reel you all posted on IG. I stay in Birmingham, AL and said, I have to visit there this weekend when I come to GA. The food, drinks, music, ambience, decor and service were all fantastic. I can’t wait to post my video of my experience I captured. Happy Holidays!
