The oxtail was excellent, and the plantains with rice and peas were delicious. Everything was hot and fresh. I ordered the large portion based on the pictures, but next time I’d probably go with the small—it was more than enough.
The only downside was the price. I paid around $37.60 for pickup, but on their website, the same meal is listed at $31.75, which comes to $33.85 after tax. Next time, I’ll definitely order and pay online to avoid the price difference

The wait time is definitely on “island time.” They seem to do a good amount of takeout business and after the very long wait we had, I understand why ordering ahead is important.
Food was tasty and hot. Real authentic Jamaican flavors. Service was very nice. I don’t know if I would go back to dine in, there is just a small deli counter to sit at. But if you order ahead I’m sure you’ll be happy.

I was excited to try this place. When the jerk chicken dinner rang up as $0 I thought it was a promotion so I ordered the Friday only goat soup to try something else new. I was prepared to pay for the dinner but wanted to cancel the soup if that was the case. They called and I gave them my credit card number to compensate for the dinner but asked them to cancel the soup. They didn’t. The person working there was rude. Jerk chicken was okay but the brisket was very good. The calaloo was cold.

They deserve 5⭐ for the veggie options and the cashier who was very nice but the Veggie Patty didn’t have enough filling. There weren’t enough vegetables inside. I would definitely comeback because the food IS addictive, I never had a Jamaican Restaurant that catered to us non meat eaters. I also like the flavors in the curry, and rice n peas.

Order online instead of in person, it is cheaper for some reason. Oxtails listed $25 online but $27/$28 in person. They probably won’t answer the phone even if you call ahead to order even though it is slow when you arrive. The lady taking the orders has 0 customer service skills. Not even a “hello” when you arrive. The oxtail, mac, rice & peas were good but not worth going out of your way for.
If I ever try again, it’ll be at the Trenton location which hopefully is a totally different experience.

I ordered a small curry chicken with plantains and this is what came, three pieces of chicken and two of them were basically bone….my order was $15 with tip. It was a small but this is a kids meal! I order a medium from the lighthouse I pay $12 and it is a generous portion that can feed two people and it’s delicious. I only ordered from here because the lighthouse was closed. The only options that are available here are small and large. This small is ridiculous. They need to start offering medium portions, definitely not worth the money. I would not recommend go to/order from the LIGHTHOUSE.

Went to The Scotch Bonnet today for the first time. The cashier was nice and they had a lot of great options on the menu. I decided to go with the Oxtail, Mac and cheese and white rice and my friend went with the Goat Curry, jerk chicken and SBK. The food overall is great, the oxtail while expensive is worth the price with how tender it is. Will definitely be back again.

They are over priced for the food to not be good! Since when is a small rice and peas with nothing else $6.50? The rice was beyond bland literally tasted like perfectly cooked textured nothing lol. I also had a beef patty the meat had no flavor just an after hint of spice. Beyond disappointed! Adjust your prices so that they match the poor flavor of the food!

Rude staff. Spent over $100 on food for my family. In town for a funeral and we wanted to have a good meal before the service tomorrow. Def don’t recommend coming here. I just don’t understand how you could have gospel music playing (which was quite comforting given the circumstances), yet such horrible attitudes towards customers.

Great Jamaican food with all thr classics like oxtail and curry and pigeon peas. It’s expensive, obviously but they really pack it in there and even a small portion is loaded with meat and is enough to make you full.
