The Scenic Lounge is a must-visit in Rochester. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant, and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant fills up quickly. Additionally, the attention to detail with the added reservation card was thoughtful. Seating is kind of tight, it looked roomier at the bar. Their cocktail menu is extensive, offering a drink for every taste. They even had a section of mocktails for non-drinkers. I loved the sweetness of the Strawberry Kisses mocktail. For dinner, we had the short ribs, chicken maple bacon flatbread, and an order of the caramel crunch cake. Everything was delicious, and each plate was pretty. If we are ever in the area again, we will come back.

This is my new favorite spot. I went for the first time last night with three girlfriends for our monthly “mom’s night out,” which I mentioned in our reservation. When we arrived, a cozy table was ready for us, along with a card with my name and a handwritten note welcoming us and wishing us a great night. It was such a thoughtful touch and immediately set the tone for the evening.

Our waitress, Emma, was kind, attentive, and happy to help us with split checks, which we really appreciated. The food was excellent—everything came out hot, and we ordered four different plates to share. For dessert, we split a slice of cheesecake, and it may have been one of the best I’ve ever had.

If you like espresso martinis, this is definitely the place to get one (or 3 ). Each drink was clearly made with care, looked beautiful, and was very smooth and easy to drink. We ended up staying a while chatting, and when the next reservation arrived, an employee kindly let us know and offered to move us to the bar with a complimentary glass of champagne, saying she understood how important mom nights out are. The hospitality was outstanding.

We can’t wait to come back.✨

I don’t often write restaurant reviews, and honestly when I saw this place had 150+ 5 star reviews, and no bad ones, I was a little skeptical how that can even be possible. But my good friend told me to check it out so I did. It is 100% 5 stars. I don’t often leave Portsmouth for dinners out, but this is worth the drive no matter where you are coming from. They’ve got the details down, the food is beautiful and delicious, the space is simply gorgeous. The service was not only stellar but genuine. Thank you for memorable night out ♥️

WOW! I had been wanting to try this place since it opened; I had only heard great things about it, and boy did it deliver.

The personalized experience starts with the reservation. I tried to book for Valentine’s Day online about a month in advance. Nothing was showing available online, so I texted (as they had requested for contact) and they were happy to make the reservation for us.

There is no dedicated parking lot, so parking is on the street or at public lots around town.

The moment you walk in the door and are greeted warmly, you know this is going to be a special place. The decor is upscale but not snobby. It’s small (reservations are recommended) and not noisy, so you can have an easy conversation. Even the paper hand towels in the bathroom are high quality.

Everything was decked out for Valentine’s Day, with the Leonardo DiCaprio movie “Romeo & Juliet” showing on a loop on a screen. They took my coat and sat us in a cozy, romantic corner with comfy pillows. Every table had a personalized notecard thanking you for coming. Next came the complimentary glasses of champagne.

My husband likes Old Fashioneds and enjoyed the “Let’s Smash” drink. My pink sangria tasted a little like a watermelon Jolly Ranger, but was good.

Now let me tell you about the food. We have eaten out in a lot of expensive places, and the quality ranks with the best of them. My husband devoured the smothered chicken. I had the harvest cavatappi with shrimp added, and it was incredible (even with more black pepper than I usually prefer). The bowl was so huge I was able to make two more meals out of the leftovers. We weren’t really hungry enough for dessert, but that didn’t stop us from inhaling the salted caramel crunch cake. I have favorite desserts, but it was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever had (complete with gold leaf)!

The service was absolutely perfect: completely attentive without being overbearing. The owner does events and puts his talents to work with the decorations that change with the holidays. He went around to several tables to make sure everything was satisfactory.

The perfect night was rounded out with the Hershey’s kisses that came with the bill. So many thoughtful touches! I’m telling everyone how great this place is, and counting the days until we return with friends.

(Side note: we went to an exclusive speakeasy in Philadelphia last year that was unbelievably pretentious and we had an appalling experience. In comparison, I never thought there would be a place this nice right here close to home in Rochester, NH!)

Everything was top notch. Our server, Lyndsey, was awesome. The drinks were delicious- special shootout to the Swipe Right, a perfect balance of sweet and tart. The Meat and Cheese board was amazing, as was the Tuna Stack- perfect flavor balance. We had a flatbread, the duck cassoulet, lobster ravioli and the smothered chicken. All amazing flavors and great presentation. The three desserts we ordered to sample were all amazing as well. Great place- we will definitely be back!

My Husband and I do not get to go out often, so when we do we try and make the best of it. We absolutely loved the Scenic Lounge and would recommend it for anyone. We were greeted with a great warm welcome and seated at a cute little table – the atmosphere was fantastic! Elegant and comfortable at the same time. Our server Morgan, was great! Very attentive and helpful with any questions. The food! Phenomenal. My husband and I just kept eating and every bite we were impressed. From the beginning to the end we had a great and pleasurable experience.

Such a fun vibe with an atmosphere out of this world! ✨️ Accompanied by gourmet, made to eat fresh entrees. Very accommodating to food sensitivities as well (call ahead). I can be a picky eater and my dinner was OUTSTANDING!

Great atmosphere! The service is excellent as well. If you are celebrating something you get a personalized card at your table. It’s pretty small though so make a reservation if you want a table.

The Scenic Lounge is such a vibe.
What a stunning spot to meet up with the girls for cocktails, celebrate a birthday, or plan a cozy date night. We didn’t get a chance to try the food this time (my very picky mom was with us), but we did sample a few cocktails from the menu—and they were awesome.

The whole atmosphere makes you want to dress up and go out for dinner. It’s got that elevated, grown-up energy that’s hard to find in most places around here—such a great vibe for the ladies!

The space is beautifully designed, with private seating areas, a big king’s table for larger groups, and thoughtful little touches like a personalized reservation card and a thank-you note from the team. That kind of detail goes a long way.

One of the best parts? You can make reservations for the bar as well as the dining area. My husband and I often want to sneak away for a quick cocktail without the kids, but we’re usually out of luck when the bar is packed. This setup changes the game.

Can’t wait to come back and finally try the food.
Bravo, Scenic Lounge—what a fantastic addition to the town!

We drove over from the Concord area to try out Scenic based on positive Internet buzz, and liking the pictures we saw of the place. Boy, are we glad we did!
We were greeted by a very friendly young lady named Kat, who also became our server. We were immediately impressed by the Art Deco vibe and decorations. A short time later, Kat returned and took our drink orders. We each ordered craft cocktails, which were excellently prepared. Kat asked us if we had been there before, and when we said we hadn’t been, she offered us each a glass of champagne! Nice touch!
Soon after ordering our meals, the co-owner, Jan came over to chat with us. She was delightful and very friendly and made us feel welcome and appreciated.
The food soon arrived, and it was delicious! We had the hummus platter, and a flatbread that was excellent! Both had VERY fresh ingredients and were prepared flawlessly. Following dinner, we had Tiramisu for dessert and it was delicious!
Kat was a wonderful and very attentive server throughout the meal. All in all, we were super impressed, and despite the long ride from home, we will be back soon!!
