We had a nice dinner here! There is a nice atmosphere and the staff is kind. The menu is quite large and they have a great beer selection! We all enjoyed our food as well.

Very good place to eat. Great specialty cocktails, good beer selections, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere are on tap. Food is simple yet very well executed. The tuna was cooked to perfection! The pan seared scallops…… well make it a double order with a salad and you would be doing your taste buds and tummy a great favor!

Scallops were absolute perfection. Light, almost fluffy, and sweet. Service was wonderful. Nicole (I believe) took care of our table very well, she was very attentive. The atmosphere was pretty Pleasant, quiet and welcoming. The only thing that was underwhelming were the two strip steaks which were supposed to be boneless, they were dry and slightly overcooked to our liking. The broccoli was phenomenal. Mashed potatoes were bland and chunky.

Went on a Saturday night, which proved to be busy but not unmanageable. We had a reservation but probably would not have needed one.
Classy and hip decor, not too noisy, and a nice split level design really make this place feel cozy.
The hostess told us seafood was their specialty. I had heard some mediocre reviews, so I decided to go all in and try the stuffed squid. To my pleasant surprise, they nailed it. Tender, perfectly cooked tubes bursting with delicious tomato and rice. Just right! I’ve had some terrible squid dishes in five star Italian spots, so this was a real testament to their quality here.
Otherwise, the drink list is very well stocked and cocktails will definitely satisfy. Plenty of local flair on both, of course.

If I was allowed to give more than 5 stars, I would. I’d give 5 stars to the food and 10 stars to the employees. The food was outstanding! I had the lamb and the blueberry venison. It was incredible!! Our server, Kat, is delightful! She made the experience something to remember. Thank you so much

Yesterday night my family and I went to the scale house for the first time to celebrate a birthday. we ordered our food and got our appetizers which were amazing but then when our main course came out every ones fry’s were cold. I ordered the fish and chips and my fish came out uncooked. One person didn’t even get there order and had to sit there and watch everyone eat another person ordered the fish and chips and only got half the food that was said to come with it. Once we complain about all this we asked for the manager. The manager then decided to never come and speak to us even though he walked by our table multiple times while we tried to get his attention but failed to do so because he did not want to deal with us. Our server was great but left out to dry by the manager because he did not want to address our complaints about all the food that came out. Most of us didn’t even eat a 1/4 of our food and asked to just get it taken off the bill. When we asked the server if she could take it off she was only able to take off 5% which was only 2.50$ because the manager wouldn’t allow her to take any food off that came out under cooked or cold. I ended up paying 54$ for food we didn’t even eat. Hopefully the owner can address this. the management there was absolutely terrible. I would recommend removing the manager Mike he has no right to be in a management position. Your manager Mike is ruining your business. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Service was very pleasant. Reservations are required. Portion sizes seemed inconsistent with the pricing, therefore I don’t feel the value is there. It is very clean and well decorated. The place is not well seen from the road and is easy to pass by. It was easier to park and walk along the sidewalk in order to locate the restaurant. It is across from a picnic area. Overall it was a nice place to visit as we were passing through.

Friends and I have given the Scale House multiple attempts at impressing us and it has been nothing but disappointing. The service is either too slow or too quick and always impersonal. On our first visit we felt rushed and unwelcome, our appetizers arrived before our cocktails and every proceeding course was delivered before finishing the previous course, food was cold and portions are small for the price. On our last attempt the server admitted that she wasn’t familiar with the menu as she doesn’t work that often and was unaware of the options available on the menu items, we orders the bread plate with Parmesan and garlic and it was delivered without it, we ordered 10 oysters on the half shell and they were served warm and gritty and made us feel sick, server told us that the oysters get delivered earlier in the day and are pre-shucked, not how you serve raw oysters. My guests ordered a bottle of wine and received 2 glasses of wine, the server was asked to bring 2 more glasses and that would suffice for the lack of a bottle, and the server replied with ‘thank goodness because I hate doing wine service’, what? You work in a casual fine-dining establishment, bottle service is kind of a requirement. My friend and I both ordered the herbed fettuccine with white wine lemon caper sauce, one with shrimp one with steak. First, the pasta came out in a scallion cream sauce, nowhere does this dish state it contains cream, it had no lemon, no white wine, no capers. The steak was grossly overcooked, tasted like propane and was dry and tough. We sent back our pastas in an effort to receive the correct sauce and I’m pretty sure the kitchen reheated our existing dishes and merely added some capers, it was terrible and overcooked, we sent it back and had it taken off the bill. I understand that things happen and mistakes are made occasionally, however our table of 3 was literally the only table in the restaurant(mind you the bar had guests but didn’t appear that anyone was eating dinner). When the bill arrived we were charged for 4 glasses instead of the bottle and were also charged for an extra glass of wine that we never ordered or received. I am not normally one to complain or write scathing reviews but our experience was inexcusable and all around awful experience for a meal that cost $150+, even after the 2 pasta dishes were removed from the bill. We will not be returning to or recommending The Scale House.

Menu not as good as last year. We 4 were all disappointed. Not as many selections fish/seafood wise as last year. Drinks watered down!! 6oz swordfish in mixed grill served chopped in tiny broken pieces. Not good. Who would of thought I would have ordered baby back ribs when I went there with 3 friends for fish! Staff excellent but it doesnt solve the problem of watery drinks , so so food taste , poor plate presentation, and menu depleted of many of last year’s items. Heard they have new chef. Is he/she to blame? Heard they working the menu. Hopefully they go back to last year and what works! Will give one last try towards end of summer. Too bad! We were there several times last year and hoped to frequent again more often. We’ll try one last time before we scratch it off our list for good.

The dining experience here was very good. The place is kind of on the low key side but the food is very outstanding. Service is excellent as well. After this first visit, I look forward to returning, the menu has many other interesting things.
