The ambiance for this place is upscale but our visit was merely average. For the price we paid, our food was subpar and nothing really stood out to us flavor-wise. The mai tai tasted purely of booze and wasn’t enjoyable to drink. There are better, cheaper places on the island to eat.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the sandbox! Their prime rib is some of the best my husband and I have ever have. Our server Jay was also so friendly and attentive! We wish we would have discovered this before our trip came to a close.

We stayed at 1 hotel n ordered room service from the sandbox restaurant. It was the worst decision ever. The guy who came to deliver didn’t give us a bill, and said it will be charged to the room. N then stood there until we tipped him. We didnt have much change in cash as we were planning to tip on the machine or charge the tip as well on room but since he was not ready to leave the room without tip, we had to give me 20 usd cash as tip as that is what we had in cash.
The horror began after that when next day we saw that the restaurant has charged us around 100$ for things we hadn’t ordered like couple of sea food dishes n what not. Mind it, me n my husband can’t eat sea food as we are allergic.
So next day we had to sit in the lobby for 1.5 hours n waste time on this to sort this out while we were on vacation.
So be very vigilant it u r ordering from here for room service.
Food taste wise was okay but we didnt really enjoy it a bit bcz of the whole experience,

This lovely beach spot with an upscale, creative menu does not come cheap, but the location doesn’t disappoint, nor does the food. The grain bowl with the vegan umami sauce doesn’t get much better than this, though it’s even better with the local hot sauce. There’s a nice cocktail program, but I wished I had skipped the mango mocktail and opted for their tropical version of an aperol spritz. People were raving about the daily special wood-oven pizzas.

Sandbox at 1 Hotel is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy great food and drinks! The tacos were delicious, and the drinks were amazing—exactly what we needed to beat the heat. The fresh fruits were a nice touch, and the desserts were the perfect sweet finish. We had a wonderful time by the pool, with stunning views of the beach and the Napali coast. It’s a must-visit for anyone staying at the hotel!

Great spot for sunset!! Food was OK at best. This place could be so much better if they make some minor tweaks. Don’t put sooo much cheese on a wood fired pizza, it turns out so soggy and doesn’t cook through all the way. Poke bowl rice was also soggy and didn’t fall apart and tuna chunks were huge, cut them into smaller pieces. I feel like this is simple stuff for 1 hotel to figure out. For the price people pay, food standard definitely needs to be better.

The food here was very delicious! I would say the highlights were the wood oven pizza. Very special to have such gourmet pizzas at the beach. When I was there, I tried their specials, Hawaiian pizza, and the shrimp pizza. All were delicious.
The tacos were delicious as well and the proteins in it were solid. I would skip the Poke, it was the only item I found to be meh.
