Great food and service. Melissa was our server and she was friendly and provided us with everything we needed.

It was our last day in Galveston and had to have some seafood. We had a great experience, service was good and the food was just as good. I got the jumbo shrimp and our waitress recommended the shrimp kisses which were jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon.

I’m not much of a seafood fan so my food options were limited. That being said, if you are on the “Island” and are anywhere near or West of Jamaica Beach you Must visit the Sand Bar. Ample seating, Great Location (use GPS), Stephanie is Awesome. I went early on a weekday so limited customers and brought my dog. I thought drinks were priced exactly where they should be. I will be back.
Lots of photos to show the entire bar.

Update… Came here lateish, (9:15) with a party of 8. They seemed to be ready to shutdown, but still took very good care of us. We all ordered food along with appetizers. 5 stars guys.

Food was great, kids said 4.4. But flounder, lobster bisque, and Dagwood among others were great. Service was good and misting was nice off the beach. Recommend and would return.

Awesome experience!
Highly recommended, if in area with dogs.
Meal was Top Notch and more then plenty. The 4 pawed kids ate some of both plates and had a water to share, refilled even.
Nobody on staff batted an eye, when we walked in with two Dogs on leases.

Looking for a patio by the water to enjoy food, drinks and Astros baseball? Look no further! This 2-story restaurant is nestled in the beautiful Sea Isle subdivision just passed Jamaica Beach in the West End of Galveston. The restaurant is in a marina right off the bay. You can drive your boat up to the restaurant or park in the subdivision parking area.
This spacious restaurant has an area to get some sunshine, or if you prefer the shade, you can sit under an umbrella or completely be shaded under the full covered seating area. There are fans for cooling off in hot weather. I’ve been to this establishment even in a rainstorm and it was still a good time.
The service was wonderful. Hanna was our waitress. She made recommendations and was able to answer questions.
The drinks and food were well presented and delicious! I had a Ranch Water – yum – and he had a margarita. Both very good. We started our meal with the “Shrimp Kisses” appetizer. Bacon wrapped shrimp with a light buffalo sauce glaze. 4 to an order placed on a bed of rice. The bacon was crisp, and the item stayed together through all my bites. Probably the best bacon wrapped shrimp I have ever had! For my entree, I ordered the blacken chicken sandwich. He had the fish (flounder) tacos. Both were prepared nicely and very tasty!
We finished our drinks and watched a little of the Astros game on the big screen projection type TV. Smaller TVs are all around the bar for viewing.
The energy was relaxed, and the day couldn’t have been better spent! Sandbar is a dog friendly place. They even have water bowls for your pooch, if needed. Next to the restaurant is a convenient store with beer products, cokes and anything else you may need on the spot.
$100.56 (without tip) for 2 adults to dine.
I have visited Sandbar 4 times now and no matter the weather, I have always enjoyed it. This place has a good thing going, for sure! Highly recommend!! Maybe we’ll see you on our next visit.

They served me some of the best gumbo I’ve ever had. It was so delicious and the fish tacos were really good also. The service was good and so were the views from the second floor.

The Sandbar Grille is our favorite place for food & drinks when coming off the Galveston beach. It’s an open air covered bar & grill right on the water. Staff is great (Corina), food is good with large portions. Our 7 year old grandson ordered the chicken fingers with fries, a generous portion for $10. The wife and I had the fried shrimp and fries basket ($13 each). We also had fried Okra ($7) for an appetizer. Domestic Beer is $3.75 and Margarita’s $10. This is a very casual spot so come as you are. No shirts. No shoes. No problem!

Rented an airbnb near by and this was a perfect spot to catch a late dinner. The employees were super helpful. They are seriously about maintaining social distancing. Food was good and drinks were also good. Family friendly restaurant.

A bit warm and humid this time of year but an excellent atmosphere with good eats and drinks. Better drink fast before the ice melts. Right on the water at the marina, good music and Astros tv. Gets really busy after 4:00pm this time of year.
